LAN problem

when i browse my other computer and open videos... it uses the internet and it's streaming...

and when i open my network places it says "The Internet" what should i do to make my other pc to be on LAN?

our two computers are already connected to the internet... helppp

i already used static ip addresses. they are on the same workgroup...

i also installed ipx protocol, only installed but not configured. what settings should i use?

What exactly do you want to achieve here? Do you want to share files between the two PC's? Please clarify your problem.

sorry... yes.. i want to share files.. play lan games. and etc. pero ako prob kung mag share files dili man direct gud.. murag mo agi pa cya sa internet.. mura ra kog ga download sa ako pikas comp using the internet..

try to double check your LAN configuration

enable file and print sharing
NETBIOS
TCP/IP

disable firewall each computer

try to ping the ip address

i already disabled firewall on each comp.

i already can ping my other comp's ip address

i can browse \\othercomp\folder but my only problem is it uses the internet........

ang imong problema is mo gamit ba og internet if mo acces ka sa other pc?

the answer is NO..

local connection ra na sya... if mo acces ka sa pikas nga pc.. but if mo gamit naka sa internet you need to have the gateway and the DNS

or dapat imong modem/router naka DHCP mode, and imong computer naka atoumatic configured ip address,

or ang isa ka pc nimo maka acces sa internet then ang usa deli.... you need to enable the internet sharing option sa isa ka pc nga maka acces sa internet, then ang imong gateway sa pikas pc is the ip address sa imong isa ka pc nga maka access sa internet,

im using a router. both pc can access the internet.

ang ako prob kay kung mo access ko sa pikas pc, it uses the internet to copy, open, etc. so mura cyag dili na hinuon local... mao na ako prob...

PC1,PC2=same connection sa internet
PC1=downloading at full speed and creating a game to play LAN game with PC2
PC2=want to join and play LAN game with PC1 (LAG cya cause nag DL man ang PC1).

mao na ako prob... mura na jud cya dili LAN game. kay ga gamit man sa internet... unsaon man ni pag config sa router or lan settings para d cya ingon ana... X_x

im not familiar with LAN game and other game etc. but based imo question why mo lag ang pc1 if mo access c pc2,

maybe because....

pc1 is busy downloading, so ga neh sa imong network device, ethernet card and high activity sa imong router, so if mo request c pc2 to join the game hosted by pc1 which is ang process is mo agi sya sa imong router which is high activity or high traffic kay ga download c pc1, so lets say nga wala problema sa router so ang request asa man sunod adto sa imong network device di bah? so busy gihapon kay ga download man ka at full speed. so na-ay tendency nga dugay maka sulod imong request.. or maybe pod wala pa ma fully download ang games nga iya gi create..

kay sa internet cafe man gud kung mag download ang 1 pc.. d affected ang LAN kay local raman cya..

so meaning naa lain software/hardware ang sa internet cafe para d ma affected ang LAN if naay i download?

so if ang internet connection hinay d diay ko maka copy sa pikas nako PC using "INTERNET MODEM->ROUTER->2 PC's"?

diba if LAN d man unta jud na mag lag kay locally raman ang iyang connection? X_x
