    Default Chrsi Cornell's Scream

what can u say about the new Chris Cornell album? Its produced by Timbaland and sounds more like Justin Timberlake than Soundgarden...

Really got this big beats like the new Duran Duran... but its nothing new with rock artists doing something different. it just shows flesibility and creativity i think.

Darius Rucker of Hootie and the Blowfish before having his now massive career as a country singer did make an RnB/Hiphop album around 2002...

And Scott Weiland's new album now also have some hiphop elements but its more diverse than Chris having some blues and country and rock in between...

James Heitfield did country on CMt few years back... so is Philipp Anselmo..

what i wanna see though is Metallica and Megadeth teaming with Timbaland hahahaha wonder how that would sound...

country singer Alan Jackson teamed up with Alison Krauss in 2005 in what supposedly a bluegrass album but instead ended up with a soulful acoustic country album...lol

who are some artists you know who stepped out of their genre and experiment with something else?

I can enumerate a few more:

Leann Rimes- did a synth/bubble gum pop album called Twisted Angel in 2002
Eric Durrance of post grunge band Big Dismal- now a country singer
Jon Foreman of Switchfoot- has a solo folk album and an avant garde(kinda)/folk band Fiction Family
Leigh Nash of Sixpence None the Richer- teaming up with Delirium for an entire album of electronica
Sebastian Bach of SKID ROW doing country music with Battle With The Bottle
Kanye West- singing on new Cd hahahahaha

i like ground zero but the rest is just plain bad. im a big cornell fan but scream is just not that great for my liking. still respect the guy though. anyone who can take risks regardless of people bashing them can have my respect even if i like their work or not....

Mike Patton did an RnB project called Peeping Tom. mas ayusan pako ato kay sa Scream ni Chris Cornell....

i loved chris in soundgarden... he was actually great in audioslave... but dude, this is weird... I'm an open minded person when it comes to music, there were a few songs that my foot was moving along the beat but after realizing that this is Chris Cornell, one of the Badass dudes of grunge and hard rock singing, made me say "what the eff was that?!?"

it was weird hearing Chris Cornell's voice on a beat that normally would be a Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Nelly Furtado thing... Maybe if you don't have any idea who Chris Cornell is, this record would sound good, it kind of comes out as a sting mixed with seal, mixed with duran duran, mixed with a lot of timbaland's signature beats...

this would have been somewhat of a One Republic Album... "its too late to apologize...its too late"

maybe Chris hit his head somewhere with a turntable and thought, "hey, that a rad beat right there homie!"

hmm he's following the footstep of Nelly Furtado, she was a respected folk rock.singer-songwriter/pop rock artist until she made an album with Timbaland and talks about promiscuity..

hahaha... I wouldn't be surprised that people change their sound when they collaborate with Timbaland. He's a very influencial person in the music scene but he really needs to let artist do their own thing when they sign up for him as their producer.

for some, its a good thing... Nelly Furtado for example, it was a nice change but Chris Cornell... Oh god, what was he thinking... I think the druggie days have caught up with him...

or maybe it was the artist choice to change their sound for bigger moolaas!!!
