OT: just downloaded "Religulous". Watching it now. Funny and sarcastic. pero lingaw bya. i suggest that if ever you watch this, you should also think and research on your own. para walai bias.

OnT: This is just my opinion.

I like the two zeitgeist movies. Very informative and an eye-opener but I don't agree with the Venus Project as the solution. I think that the people around the world is so dependent with the monetary system. Civilization as we know it is so dependent with the monetary system. You take it away and everything collapses. Also the Venus Project forgot that the monetary system or banking system is TECHNOLOGY. We should make this technology work for us. I believe that there should be a reform in the monetary system rather than replace it. I think replacing it would yield more costs than benefits. I think replacing the currency that we have right now (which is debt-based) to a debt-free currency is the first step of the solution. Meaning, take away the powers and privileges of the central banks and give it back to the people or the government. Let the people control the money supply. Or make the central banks part of the government and not a private corporation. Also make the banking reserve 100%. This way, the governments around the world will not allot money for loan and interest payments and there will be more money for other more meaningful projects. Money will then work for the people rather than the other way. I think that the Venus Project addresses the symptoms and not the causes. Even if the world will change into a resource-based economy, it will not address people's greed. I believe this is the reason why corporations would rather automate than hire people - for more profits which is due to greed. Even in a resource-based economy, the selfish ones will be creative enough to get what they want. I think that whatever system we have, it will not solve this kind of thinking. This is why I believe there is no reason to replace the current system especially since everybody is so dependent on it. I believe that changing how people think is the main solution. EDUCATION should be emphasized. The money originally alloted for the loans and interests should be for education. This way, the masses will not fall prey to the corrupt. Remember Robert Kiyosaki (Rich Dad, Poor Dad)? Before this "financial crisis" he has been advocating in his books on how to really deal with money; on how to really "see" money; making money work for you. Also he has been warning the people in his books that there will be a financial collapse and this was a few years back. You think he knew? I also suggest that you watch "Money Masters".

i have to disagree with you on this one... If you have the time to read through the .pdf file available on The Zeitgeist Movement, they were able to present valid points on why the monetary system has to be outgrown. If we wish to see an end to war, poverty, social stratification, pollution... this current system has to go, it is outdated, it is based on a scarcity paradigm, which of course through human ingenuity or technology we can overcome. Our values as human beings have become too distorted because of this system and is paralyzing the human species' unlimited potential. We can create a civilization that is updated to present day knowledge. and yes sadly people have become dependent on the system, but the more this system continues the more it's gonna crash and more and more people will eventually suffer.

again... if you have the time to read the .pdf available on the site i recommended, you can find your answers there... i know i did.

i'm very optimistic about our future.
