Default ~Erap's Trial~ Guilty or Not Guilty?

I watched the news last night and what caught my attention is a grieving and crying Erap attending the wake of his deceased brother. The Sandiganbayan did allow him to attend the wake but not the burial. In my opinion the burial is far more significant than the wake or I think the two should not be separated. Why cant the court allow Erap to attend burial as well anyway the guy is not a convicted felon.

Anyway, I cant help but compare the fate of Erap and GMA, both who are embroiled in a controversy. If how was justice and the law so swift in taking actions against Erap it is also slow in acting against GMA. Erap was arrested four months after he was unceremoniously taken away from Malacanang, mug shot, and incarcerated. In contrast, GMA remain entrenched in Malacanang, protected by the AFP and got a huge help from lackey in Congress in trashing a strong impeachment case.

Erap was accused based on the self serving testimony of Chavit Singson who is a self confessed gambling lord. Aside from his assertions nothing was really going for the case of the government. In contrast, the whole country know what GMA and Garci did the last elections.

Erap is helpless in his case. I think his rights are violated and he was illegally and unjustly and hastily charged on trump up charges. I dont see any justice in his plight.

We are also helpless because despite a glaring evidence of irregularity and misconduct the guilty is being allowed to continue acting as President.

The government is dragging the issue. I think a jailed Erap is better than a free Erap even without a valid and just cause for detention.Â* If Erap is free he could unite the opposition which could present a formidable challenge to this administration.

And please dont ridicule my opinion.

@t.marcelo - i agree with you..might as well the court should have allowed Erap to attend his brother's burial (also)...for humanitarian reasons...but at least he was allowed to visit the wake...

BUT Erap was not accused on the self serving testimony of C. Singson only...there were many people who testified against him...and besides, Singson's admission on his involvement of Erap's wicked ways made his testimony reliable...

Lucky for him that he was allowed House Arrest..

honestly, i can take s.n.m.p.'s arroyo-bashing-thread since he has the right to air his side against the inconsistency of the present government. and to some points, they're quite true.

I believe ERAP should be tried with the accussations... and GMA should be tried also... but i hope law can be applied both to the rich and the poor and most especially to the dumb and the intelligent.
