hmm if that's john 10 where jesus quoted psalm 82, then "god" there just means one with authority. also remember something in isaiah 40-50 where the same phrase was used then a couple chapters later, something like "i am God, no one before me, neither after" ... Originally Posted by regnauld

there is a wider context to be considered of course, and personally i do not take these passages as they are. anyway, doesn't matter what i believe, but with regards to man becoming god, the bible objects so i think we ought to source reference elsewhere. let's leave the twisting and misinterpreting (for their own purpose) to the cults and fundamentalists and take what the literature says, for it to be useful
