Yup heard the same phrase from a friend couldnt help but chuckle, on a serious note I agree with some comments made its the implementation thats the problem.

Filipinos that go abroad end up to be very good citizens, why? Because we know we cant get away with things.

Its Sad ... Wish we had Singapore's way of doing things

i didnt know "suggestions" had penalties? i don't think so... by the thread title itself, mao na akong comment. pero sakto si Maikeru , that's why they sounded like "suggestions" cos di mn matarong ug implement.. tsk9...

Who needs the law if everyone won't f*ck each other? So in that light, the law is simply a suggestion.

Given how some people in the other threads are in the habit of condemning persons without evidence, I would say that they principle o\f "innocent until proven guilty" is now also just a suggestion.

True, our law here is enforced only for the poor and the weak, most of it are suggested by known businessmen and political families. Mao na daghan flaws ang law kay ang mobuhat one sided ra man. The winning side will always win and the losing side will always lose. Graft and Corruption is like air that Filipinos breathe-in when given an important position in the government.

awa ra gud ilang gi buhat sa World Bank unsa ka bogo anang mga politiko. Ang WB is an international body which protects the money of their member banks nga utangan sa Pilipinas. Imbis nga mo tabang og makig coordinate, sila pay mo ingon nga "bakakon" ang world bank sa pag sangyaw sa anomaliya sa government contracts. Sa panahon sa recession nga nagkalisud halos tanan birahan pa ang world bank.

maayo man atong mga balaod.. ang nagimplement maoy walay ayo... sometimes mura maigo ta sa saying nga " lawmakers are the lawbreakers" this is not just to lawyers but to politicians aswell.. kay cla raman ang mas daghan nahibaw-an, kabalo sad mangita lusot.. pero kung stictoanay lang gyud cguro tanan...

    suggestion ra man gyud.

dili man gani mosunod sa pinaka simple nga traffic rule...
Nakakita nga "NO PARKING", mo park gyud.
Nakakita nga "NO ENTRY", mo enter gyud.
Nakakita nga "NO LEFT TURN", mo left turn gyud.

    hahayz...

YES! almost all our laws here are suggestions. pinaka paet sd who those who have connections in the government and mostly politicians WALA jud balaod para nila. they can almost do what they want to do. para ra jud sa mga pobre ug mga tao nga wla connections ang balaod dnhi. i think enough na ato laws to add some more. what we should do is to implement those laws made. mga politicians karon cge lang pasikat sa ila gpang himo nga bills but after that wala japun gamit.

Ingon among attorney/teacher sa law namo, "The Philippines has the best set of laws (or if not, one of the best set of laws) in the whole world, pero ang problema lang, kung gi-unsa pag-implement or exercise sa mga balaod."
