if labels mean anything then there was a period in my life that i guess i was atheist. the becoming was rather a common one: i was searching for god, didn't find him, so concluded he didn't exist. i just abandoned the whole idea of a supreme being, thinking things are simpler that way and it sounded convenient. i gradually came to realize though that it took me more faith to not believe, and that kind of faith i didn't have. sounds messed up, but yeah, i guess it is

I asked myself being an atheist on how will we account for ourselves when we are stood in front of "God" to explain our lack of faith.Let's just suppose that there is some "Judge" at the end of this life, would he really hate me for being a kind and just person that is kind and just because it helps the world instead of being kind and just out of fear of his retribution? Open your eyes..open your mind...open your heart. Fear of fire does not make the world a better place.

Why did you bother to ask yourself? Why do you suppose? You may not be atheist, my friend. You may be somewhere between atheist and agnostic. But you may need to research on that yourself because I don't know labels.

...you just defined your 'ideal' divine being.


I think you are simply displeased with how people or your religion shove their belief of God down your throat.

Not that there is anything wrong with being an atheist per se, but just because you don't believe in religion or your view of God is different from that of the majority, doesn't make you an atheist.

I'm a believer by the way though I went through an atheist phase for a short time.
