the ecs is a micro-atx board so it has fewer pci expansion slots than the emaxx (w/c is atx) but it has a dedicated sideport memory for the built-in 3200 video card

The 780G series was built for budget gamers because of the hybrid crossfire technology w/c was introduced in these series of mboard chipsets.

What hybrid crossfire does is it combines the processing power of the onboard and the 1 discrete(the one you put in the pci-e slot) video cards to deliver increased performance by combining the two when playing games and turning off the discrete card when only doing regular desktop apps to conserve electric consumption. It has a limitation tho...... only the 2400 XT, 2400 PRO, 3450, and the 3470 cards can only be used to enable hybrid crossfire. Because of these, hardware enthusiasts advise that you not put any other discrete video cards asides from the ones mentioned.

but if i uninstall the driver of the on-board video and use the latest catalyst of ati radeon 3870, no compatibility problems w/in the board and the vc?

since both are discrete and onboard cards are ATI, you can use the latest catalyst driver for both.

although casing and hsf na lang pinagcacanvass ko ngayon
