Manoy regnauld, to my understanding any person can be spiritual (theist or atheist). If we mean by SPIRITUALITY as a way of life geared towards the unfoldment or the awakening of his LATENT powers into activity. Religion, philosophy,science,atheism,art,*** & of course icecream are but triggers (stimulus sa inyo psychology) to bring about the latent "force" w/n us, its all about the agitation of this BEING into BECOMING. now of course our personality (or lower self in your theosophy), the conditioned self would always interfer in the process of unfoldment; instead of just being contented as a simple medium to that "force".
If i may exagrate, anything under the sun is having a spiritual experience, its juat that the animals & the stones cant tell if they are christians or atheist
