honestly, dili kaayo ko ganahan sa Starbucks 'coz tam-is ra kaayo para nako.. (peace to those Starbucks worshipers).
Well I'm a coffee guy... it makes me keep standing and erect... on my graveyard shift.... heheh

the article is very true... hehe igo jud tanan... and yes.. I totally agree when he said
But Starbucks has gone beyond colonial mentality; it has become pure escapism. It helps us forget about the EDSA traffic jam, the hostages in Mindanao, and the decreasing popularity of the current President. In this age of harsh realities of poverty and chaos, anything that offers oblivion and temporary indulgence sells fast. No matter how costly it is.
    by the way...

I'm a Bo's drinker.. mas isog ang brewed coffee nila.. hehe

This has been written about every damn western company that "suddenly" invades the Philippines. The author has no originality. Giving people an asinine reason to go up in arms about is in itself asinine. For someone to call Starbucks as THE coffee authority in the US or anywhere really does not know anything about what they are writing about. On the web, this is what people would call link-baiting ... a feeble attempt to get hits for the sake of getting hits without really putting any thought into their writing aside from the fifteen minutes in the bathroom that is required to come up with something that will grab your attention, but really has no substance. Sorry, I'll take mine black, the way it is meant to be ... and people have been drinking black coffee for a long, long time.

You have to admit that the Philippine franchiser of Starbucks-whoever-he is-deserves credit.
Starbucks does not franchise. At least get your facts straight.

sorry, but reality check.. a lot of star bucks stores are closing in, in the states due to crisis.. true.. even big companies you'll never expect.. another example is Gap.. well, star bucks issue doesn't affect me.. truly i don't find coffee beneficial to the body.. this crisis happening global today only means one thing.. settle for something less., safe and convenient..
