But it seems we're all not contended with the things in this life, we're always searching and longing for something; it seems nothing in this world is never enough. Perhaps it's because what our hearts really desire doesn't exist in this world; perhaps because there's really 'another world' that exists where our hearts can find its total fulfillment.

or maybe we are just longing for the wrong things? have you ever wondered why?
i say it's because we have been disconnected with nature. (hehe sorry no relevance to the topic.)

seriously, thats what most people do. a form of escapism...a sort of wishful thinking, hopes and dreams. to a fantasy happy place, not like right here, right now thing.

and with man's discontent, they look to the heavens and came up with god/s. same story, still happening.
Well, I don't mean literally; I mean we have this sense that our heart is the "center" of our being.

I think that "abyss" is a nice metaphor for this "center" of our being, because when we experience all those kinds of emotions they seem very deep and mysterious and they involve the whole of us.

What I meant to say was that it seems nothing in this world truly satisfies us. The human "heart" is contended only for a certain amount of time, then it wanders again seeking more pleasure, happiness, peace, joy, excitement, meaning, etc. We are restless, we want more adventure, more fun, more entertainment, more knowledge, more truth, more wisdom, more security, more love, more acclaim, more respect, and many times we feel disappointed because we never attain lasting fulfillment for all our desires.

That's why I believe whatever it is that our heart desires, it can't be found in this world. It doesn't mean that all the good things in life are not worth pursuing, and that we should just "lay back and relax" and live apathetic lives. We ought to live our lives to the fullest still. But at the end of the day, our "hearts" are not really totally and permanently satisfied. I believe that's because we are made for another world.

Oh, most of the time we are longing for the right things -- justice, progress, happiness, security, love, and so on, but we never attain lasting fulfillment for our desires. Do you remember that email message that was forwarded a lot of times about how we have reached this age of progress and technological advancement, a time when it is so much easier to communicate with people because we all have the technology in place for more efficient and immediate communication, yet strangely more and more people feel lonely and isolated; more and more people are talking less and less (I mean really talking)? Technological advancement is good, progress is good, justice is good, but at the end of the day there's a nagging feeling that it's never enough.

It's very good to commune with nature once in a while, it lets you slow down a bit and think about what your life is really about, who you really are and who you really want to be, it lets you think about what the important things in your life are. But even Thoreau did not spend his whole life in the woods. He felt that he has many more lives to live. He felt that there was more to life than living in peace with nature.

Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

unsa diay imong gipasabot nga makasala bro? ang gi-ingon sa Bible kung makapangalagad kas ministro sa Dios:

Matthew 10:40-41 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

    God bless us.

ah ok.. so, sa imo lugar nga kabahin konsensya ang basihan bro. sa uban lugar nga atheist lahi pod lugar bro? nagpasabot ba nga kung unsa ang naa sa imong konsensya nga sa pagtimbang-timbang nimo insakto ka, maconsider lugar nimo nga morally right?

Man is very much capable of deciding what is morally right and wrong. You don't need a book for that. Believe in yourself, break out from this notion that man is inherently falliable and needs a divine being to guide him.

    Amen to that!

Of course that was morally wrong. Since we are talking about the 6M Jews that were killed by a belief of a single man. Where was God during that time? If he had existed why did he let that happen?
