goodpm! am not from visayas but i can understand a few ilonggo. my wife frm la carlota.

anyway, i used to have mydsl a s service and can host webpages. but when i switched to smartbro, i could not host anything (even ftp), using the same setting setting of procedure i did with mydsl. will try ur suggestions and also will try to change my home network from 192.168..... to something else. i read something that i should it be different from the domain of smart (192...)

Im not quite sure but for what I know Smartbro is using Private IP. Hosting a website need to use a public IP.

With Smart Bro, you really cant host a public website... It is just impossible. It is because the connection that you are receiving is already NAT'ed. For short, it's like your in a private network already and all connections on the internet are filtered. Your can connection can communicate from IN to OUT but not OUT to IN... It's a sad BULOK fact how they implement their service... One reason, their cutting cost of Public IPs.... In this way, they are saving millions..... They are fooling the customers.. making them think that they can use the INTERNET but the Fact remains you can only SURF... Noob users only... tsk tsk tsk....

Security? i dont think so... there are lots of inter-network hacking going on.... cuz it's like ur part of a very big home network... If they say Security, well it is a very dumb implementation of security.... They secure their customers from the Internet but not from each other... Again, saving cost of public IPs...
