1. AMD platform codename Dragon Phenom II X4 quad-core processor
a.) code-named Deneb have 8MB of L3 cache
b.) Propos version will have 2MB of L3 cache.
Dragon will also include ATI Radeon HD 4800 series GPU and 790 series chipset.

**for Desktop
2. AMD platform codename Pisces will feature 45nm process Phenom II triple and quad-core processors that will used DDR3 memory and upcoming RS880 chipset.
**for Servers
3. AMD will introduce new server platform named Fiorano - a six-core processor
Future
- A next-generation platform code-named Maranello will be introduced with a new socket and will support DDR3 instead of DDR2. Maranello will bring AMD's first ever 12-core processor code-named Magny-Cours and six core processor code-named Sao Paolo in 2010.
- AMD will launch the Hydra revision of its Shanghai CPU in early 2009. Hydra should support up to 8 cores, 6MB L3 cache, and 1MB L2 cache per core.
- AMD Bulldozer is due to be released originally in H1 2009 but was pushed far back to 2011. AMD has said Bulldozer will be an all new processor containing up to 16 cores.

Future
- Intel Larrabee is a multi-core, programmable general purpose graphics processors (GPGPU). It is a GPU, physics and scientific calculation chip all in one. The GPU is expected to contain up to 16 cores and each core can execute up to 4 simultaneous threads allowing up to 64 total threads. Larrabee will use GDDR5 memory.
- Intel's Lincroft CPU is expected to be launched in 2009 and will be part of the Moorestown platform. Lincroft will bring the graphics core and memory controller all into the processor itself.

*** New Hardware***
----------------
-PCI Express 3.0 specification is expected to be completed in 2009 and begin appearing on motherboards in the 2009/2010 timeframe. PCIe 3.0 will allow for increased transfers up to 8 gigatransfers per second (vs. 5 for PCIe 2.0). It is expected to use the same connector and thus be backwards compatible.
