Ehhh How can that be possible? Just pause and ponder at that reporter's statement for a minute...the moon, CASTING A SHADOW, on an object that is a SOURCE OF LIGHT, and is 93 million miles away.

The correct way of saying it is: "The moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, casting a shadow on the EARTH (not on the sun!!!)..."


I do have to add though, that the photo is indeed splendid.

@zenred, cloudy diri, and the event is not observable after 5:30 PM because the mountains of Cebu blocks the sun after that.

...here is the maximum extent of the coverage as seen from Cebu City... at 9:50am.


In Shanghai things would be totally different...
