this might be true but doesn't mean totally closing down the company. maybe 1 of those 4 will stop making mobos and focus on their other line of business(netbooks, laptops, coolers, vga cards, casings, etc....)

pa aboton nalang if true. di ma wa ang ECS uy kai cheap ra
Mao buhat.buhat rana aron mga taw mamalit ug MSI hahahaha.
END.
I doubt they will, foxconn is more of an OEM manufacturer for motherboard and parts.. Im guessing you've seen some boards from Abit and others with a Foxconn logo blending it to the board and you guessed it right!
My opinion based on the list,
Asus = I doubt they will die out anytime soon they have a huge market base on both highend and entry level systems.
Gigabyte = I think they might, they are only popular on the middle and highend segement, and we know a company gets profits from the low end segment.
ECS = A very price friendly company, no extra frills or BS on their board.. you get what you payed for and sometimes even more, i doubt they will die anytime soon since a lot of low end systems are equipped with ECS boards.
MSI = They have the highest chance of dying, nothing new or innovative to offer, prices are not even that competitive and the quality is questionable and to add you rarely hear about them being talked about in the forums.
msi jud cguro na...pero foxconn lisud...medyo cla man gani gahimo uban parts sa lain nga manufacturer...
mgwonder man sad ta nanu kablo man sya bwt sa status sa uban motherboard makers...
so posible jud nga magsabot2 ra lagi ng mga companies sa mga prices ug next specs nga ipagawas nla...
one of the signs when a motherboard company has nothing else to do is when it starts to innovate designs on it's chipset heatsinks which we all know is more than eye candy than functional. some are starting to put roller coaster parks on your motherboard.
