    @ubeJam

    Can you please post complete settings for each pic?

    Guys,

    The pics are fairly good but I notice some blur on some parts of the subject.
    How can we eliminate these blur?
    What settings are preferable?
    What about for action/sports shoot during night time? e.g. Indoor basketball, tennis wherein less available light.
    What are the techniques?

    can you please advice....

    This is due to the slow shutter speed of 1/125.

    How can we eliminate these blur?
    Use a fast shutter speed. At least 1/500.

    What settings are preferable?
    A very fast shutter speed (1/500 and up). ISO 400/800/1600. F/2.8 or bigger.

    This is where those "L" lenses really excel. Even if you shoot a bit under-exposed, images will be good enough for post-processing.

    What are the techniques?
    Nothing really. Just timing. ^_^

    @Twinjet-

    offhand, i'd say increase your ISO to 400 or even 800; ISO 400 is preferable if you can get away with it, bec. ISO 800 on some camera brands could be really "noisy"

    use a really high shutter speed - to eliminate the blur in ubejam's photos, i think that would be 1/600 or even higher; that depends on what you're shooting though, so that calls for experimentation

    indoor sports lighting - that will most probably require the widest lens opening; if you're shooting in shutter-priority mode, the camera will take care of the lens opening, but if you want to be sure, you'd have to shoot in manual for that, i.e., F/4 or lower and a high shutter speed....

    If you are in sports photography having a motion blur on the subject itself is good, as long as the only thing that has a motion blur is the subject that is moving and make sure the things that are in the subject that doesnt move is clear and sharp, that if that's your pupose but if you really want to freeze everything then yeaz use a higher shutter speed.
