The International Academy of Film and Television will be offering
Digital
Photography Workshop on March 2-5, 2007. Below are the details:

Digital Photography

March 2 Â* 5, 2007

Requirement: Digital Camera/DSLR

Course Description:

This class introduces beginners and hobbyists to the exciting world of
photography, using digital camera or film. A short history of
photography
and the benefits of the course will be discussed. Types of cameras,
rules of
composition, the different functions of camera, handling and care of
film
and camera accessories will be studied. An in depth comparison between
the
digital-- and film based cameras will be discussed. On the last day of
the
workshop, starting at dawn until sundown, the students will be
traveling to
many interesting sites and shooting pictures to practice what students
have
learned inside the classroom.

Sunrise to Sunset
Hands-on session

Photoshop Session at the Computer Laboratory
- critique of work
- introduction to the basics of photo editing with ADOBE CS 2

no mention ba on who will conduct the workshop? any famous names?

isnt it too much to spend Php8000 for lectures that anybody can get from books and the internet? i mean why conduct a 4-day digital photography workshop and spend approx a day understanding film and very basic equipment?

wouldnt it be better unta to focus on shooting techniques and pp?

can't answer your questions. i just inquired from them 2 months ago if they offer such workshop and they told me wala pa sched and i just received this email today. better if u email them urself and post the reply. thanks!

Obviously, its for beginners. If you think you're more advanced then that workshop is not for you. But you're right adjong, 8K is pretty much when you can just check on the internet.

Just got back from manila....

The workshop abortretryfail, I and Jon Unson will be shoot intensive. Meaning every week, for 3 Saturdays, you will be given photo assignments that will be critiqued the following week. These assignments will be based on the lectures. The 4th Saturday will be a field shoot and the 5th will be used to critique the shots done on the 4th Saturday.

As I just got back from Manila, we will have a final syllabus within the week and the schedules as well. Meanwhile, those who are interested can PM their numbers to either me or abortretryfail.

if it's IAFT ... chances are, ted madamba will be the one who will conduct the workshop -- that's my uninformed guessed.
