It's quite different in reincarnation. OBE is leaving the alive body unconscious and return to it while reincarnation is leaving a dead body and enter into a new one. Reincarnation is somewhat like changing your clothes.

I know but then the fact that the soul goes out while still alive is the same principle when the body dies, the soul leaves but enters a new body.

The good thing is that when the silver cord is still attached, then one can go back anytime to the body. While in the case of reincarnation, the soul survives when the body dies only that it enters into a new form or new body!

I've read about this in Reader's Digest Special Edition: Into the Unknown. Astral Projection, There are really instances that this happens.
