Intel or AMD, C2D or Quad for Graphic Designing and Photo Editing?

hi guys,

what would you guys recommend na specs for pc kanang gamit for graphics designing and photo editing...
my current pc is intel p4 3ghz, 512mb ram. hinay na kaayo sya when i edit photos and cge ka hang... i dont know much about computers and i plan to study graphics designing and photo editing so i need to buy a new pc...

some would say amd and some says intel... na libog nako and di pa gyud ko sweto... can u recommend a setup na that would last me 4years... hehehe...

what kind of processor(pwede ra ba ng core 2 duo? or quad?) , motherboard, ram and video card (is this important) and pila ka watts ang power supply? Please specify the brands and models coz im not familiar with the specs and features of the different parts for a pc...

ako budget is 25k for cpu lang. is this enough?

25k imo budget bro nindot na kaayo na pang photo editing, goto core2duo. pwede rasad AMD dualcore.

go amd. maka barato pa ka. for video and desktop editing, a quad core and a lot of ram (4gb recommended) is recommended. ^_^

go for higher clocked memory bro, u need it, with usually cut n paste and recall functions, u need high speed and more memories.

invest in monitor. any of them is more than enough for photo editing.

1st, id recommend upgrading your ram to 2gb.

i already have a 22" samsung monitor... i need to buy a new cpu.

since someone here suggested to get a quad so im considering a Phenom X4 9550 (2.2G)... mas barato man sa intel right?

my next question what good motherboard that will go with this... and ang ram pwede 2 gb or dapat 4 gb na?
how about video card? do i need this? dili man pang gaming? whats a nice brand.... budget nako is 25k for the whole cpu.

Phenom X4 9550 - not a good buy IMHO. it's like throwing away your money. especially that Phenom II's are just around the corner.

get a Q9300 + Asus P5QL PRO + 4GB DDR2 + 2 x 320GB(RAID 0) SATA for OS + 1 x 1TB SATA for files + GeForce 8400GS (LOL), wait, get something more than that.
