i think this has something to do with the compatibility of your mobo & 45nm processors...kung imo e-google not only MSI P35-Neo but also various Gigabyte P35, Asus P35 etc naa ani nga problem...ang uban ma-solve ra thru BIOS upgrade baya...try nalang suggestions sa uban(BeoR, poldopunk, jhnpl, reishoto,ISTORYA & muzikfreakah)...basta my offer for u to return the procie still holds(based sa ato talk gahapon sa afternoon). no problema ra sa owner bro, dili mana nato ma tag-an ang incompatibility...anyway the procie is working stable man(@2.66GHz), dili lang stable @ 3.0GHz on your mobo...txt lang bro kung unsa man gani...

this is the procie referred above:

Bad PSU can cause restart; But it can be fixed temporarily by increasing the voltage.

Anyway poldo's suggestion about the temp shut down threshold may be to low may not be hitting the mark. If the temp threshold is too low the symptom would be slowing the processor down or shutdown and not restart.
Anyway Can you post the voltage for your proc?

kung magsige gihapon siya ug restart bisan ug default settings, then its probably the psu... but kung dili gani... then probably sa voltage tweaking ra ang problema... try to research mga other users sa imong mobo, and unsa ilang settings gipanggamit sa ilang overclock... also

try removing the 3rd ram... just use the dual 1gb ram... then increase voltages sa northbridge, cpu vtt, and southbridge. and of course... try increasing your vcore.

supposedly u dont need tweaking sa bag-o nga processor.. naa gyud problema sa support sa e8400 sa imo mobo. check your bios, temp cut-off temp. kung d gyud, update ure bios. kung d gihapon, then mao na ni nga time u have to either tweak temp manually na lng or change mobo...

Hello! I really appreciate all your replies!

Again, as a reminder, THE SYSTEM IS NOT OVERCLOCKED AND I WILL NOT TOUCH THE VOLTAGE CONTROLS.

Nope, I wouldn't do that. That's the reason why I got a new PSU.

43°C - 48°C at idle times. If it's working (not playing games), 51°C average.

Hey BURT! I'm gonna try that as soon as I can.

the computer would shutdown on the middle of stress-testing with prime95, i tried upping all the voltages to no avail but upon close examination with the BIOS, it turns out nga tungod ra sa low treshold for thermal shutdown setting sa mobo which was set at 60C, of course during stress testing the CPU Temp (Not the Core Temp) would report higher than this which is why mapalong ang computer inig start ug stress-testing.

have a look at your automatic shutdown at certain temperature na setting.

    hope that helps.
Nice suggestion. I haven't tried this yet but I will check the threshold in the BIOS after I post this message. Thanks man!

Hey Sir! This is a great plan! I was about to send you a PM regarding this. Set the time and the day. I'm free on weekends.

It's an old ATI X1950XT. This shouldn't be the reason why.

Hello Sir Simoko! I'm not ready to give this up yet. Hehehe. I will be trying the system with a good branded PSU and give it a go, if it still fails, then I would have to return this. UP FOR SIMOKO! A GOOD AND VERY HONEST SELLER!

Hey Earl! Long time no read. I've been sending you YMs but you didn't reply. I figured you were busy. Anyway, I'm very interested in your PSU. How old is it and how much?

Thank you all for your replies!

    @ Glassmoon:
    - try kuno change ang CPU SmartFan Temp sa BIOS...i think the default sa MSI is 50c...change it to 35c....
    - also kung naa Shutdown Temperature threshold sa imong BIOS...pls change it to 75c
    - pls. reseat your HSF basin wala lang kaayo na matarong...for me your temps are High normal...
    - multiplier switch back to 9x

post lang updates on how it goes...
