i must missed the article's intention and its outcome, so i re-read it again.

you clearly misinterpreted the article. the author did not say living abroad is not a paradise AT ALL, but rather, he was trying to change the pinoy perception that living abroad, no matter how bad the job, is PARADISE because the amount of money earned. there's a difference.

your way of thinking gives me the impression that you're one of the typical Filipinos who doesn't give a rats ass about our country, who will do anything to get to a foreign land, and would do any job possible to get the money to satisfy his wants. TAKE NOTE: i'm not saying that's who you are, that's just my impression of you. again, there's a difference.

di na lang ko mu comment ani, coz clearly you don't have any idea what you're talking about. an illegal having a decent life? what's your definition of decent? remember that NOT ALL ILLEGALS are living a decent life in AMERICA.

living expenses largely depends on the state you live in. i can earn 7 dollars/hour in Upstate, NY, own a house with all the mortgage, and still be okay. however, if i earn the same amount and live in NYC, then i'd be renting a very small room and i would barely make the rent.

so, 1280 dollars per month might be high in some states, but low on most. your logic doesn't make sense.

    Ok.
I disagree about the writers thought because Even a Professional here in the Philippines could not earn a substantial income to raise a family. Now this means the BASIC NEEDS. Thereby a lot of Filipinos aim to work abroad because even to a point that they have to settle for a menial job, still they earn better from that of the Philippine Income. Now, I have added the fact that the freedom and respect to human kind does not , and is not factored by who you are, who you're with, your culture, your belief, your nationality. Everyone will get the right to have a health care, everyone can dine to any restaurants even you will just order water, everyone can go to a 7 star hotel lobby, everyone can test drive any car (off course not the exotic) without being descriminated, everyone has the same opportunity to succeed even if you start from being an ILLEGAL migrant.That...... is PARADISE TO ME.

When was the last time an APPLE IS COMPARABLE TO A BANANA, within the range of this topic.
So are you saying that the opportunity to grow and be respected ( wage is equal to value) of a Certain Nurse or Doctor, or Teacher, or computer something ( I cant specify ) is the same wherever you are?

    Think again.
This is what the writer is been saying. That life abroad is not paradise as what other people think.

What I said is, No matter where you are, life has to start from the very first step of a ladder (this is a given, no one should complain about this ), unfortunately here in the Philippines, even you are a well verse professional (you excel in your craft ), your wage could not get you anywhere.

    Stay within the writers thought.
I have nothing against you, I will try to explain to you why I disagree with the writer, no more no less.

I have 90% of your ideas that I disagree, but thats out of the topic. I have no problem taking it down the line but as of this time, I have the urge to make you understand that these writers has the responsibility (although I didnot expect much from this author ) towards the reading public. He just happened to know a little and try to expound it on one of thie writing 101 subject in class. He ought to research more NOT JUST SETTLE FOR A VERY SHALLOW INFORMATION.

how about you chad, how do you support your idea?

  9. #419
I have high respect to people who are living abroad (like chad) but if this is what becomes of a person (like chad ) then I will take back my opinion and would agree that life abroad indeed is not a paradise, see what happen to chad...

  10. #420
lets hear how a person like chad deliver his opinion about what the author (stick to this topic) believes.

be a person of substance, if you have a hard time, I have no problem outlining you the "basics" of debate.
