That is precisely why people armed with guns have training re rules of engagement. Where in the article did it say that he was mauled? They had a fist fight. The guard lost the fist fight and shot the person when the person was running away.

Ngano pusilon pa man nako nga hing dagan naman. Apparently, his anger got the better of him especially because he lost the fight and he was not able to THINK about what he was taught by the security agency.

Mao bitaw nga mapreso ang guardia kay wala siya mo THINK sa mga consequences.

So we should all THINK HARD. . .

what the guard did cannot be considered self-defense but already constitutes murder since there is already a motive. also when the assailant was already down, he fired two more shots making sure he died. As someone who is licensed to bring a gun, he should've practiced constraint or even one shot that put the driver down should've been enough.

ok, so let's give him the benefit of the doubt...

so he was mauled and maybe his only way out of the fight was to pull out his gun. In which, by doing so he already accomplished his goal. The driver runs away and out of anger and revenge, security guard shoots the driver which causes the driver to go down. Does that justify him pumping two more bullets into the body of the driver?

secondly, that line from Black Hawk Down quoted earlier cannot be employed here for the following reasons:

    a. the line is in context to being at a war scenario wherein you are being fired upon. which in this case the driver was unarmed, so where are the flying bullets?

    b. the security guard is considered a professional firearm holder since he gets paid to have his firearm everytime he is on duty. And being such, he is expected to practice constraint and professionalism in dealing with security matters.

why is it that when something bad happens, people usually side sa mas grabe ang nahitabo? just wondering lang...coz based from this statement ba, its the guard pa who was unreasonable. can you imagine..here you are, just doing your duty of making sure that people are following the rules and regulations which management wants the security guards to implement. here you are faithfully doing your job when here comes someone who clearly does not know how to respect authorities, who clearly does not know how to follow and obey rules and regulations, argues with you and nag tig fist fight nimo..with you who was just doing your job, earning an honest living for your family. now..who is being unreasonable?

look at things this way... if your child was kidnapped (or para sa mga wala pay anak, if your sister was kidnapped), molested or whatever, would you even care how the police would operate just to get your love one back? would you even care if it was a rubout?

you are exactly right genesis 04. it would really depend on the circumstance. there is no perfect individual. i guess for the guard, it was the right thing for him to do.. one less badlongon in the world. as denzel washington said in man on fire "forgiveness is between man and God, it is my duty to arrange that meeting"

    THINK! bro...
    Dili.
I think you are missing the point. THINK sad kuno ha kay murag nagpadala ka sa imong emotions. THINK gyud ha. . .
The reason why there are only SOME people who are AUTHORIZED TO CARRY GUNS IN PUBLIC and not everyone else is because the PEOPLE WHO ARE AUTHORIZED TO CARRY GUNS have been trained to respond to different situations such as these. They are professionals whose primary job is to protect the public, including the taxi driver. That is why they are trained WITH RULES OF ENGAGEMENT. These RULES OF ENGAGEMENT are set forth so they will know when it is JUSTIFIABLE TO FIRE A GUN/SHOOT SOMEONE. Did he fire in self-defense? NO. The person was running away and he shot him in the back. THAT IS MURDER. The reason why he shot him was because he lost in the fist fight and he let his anger take over his training.

This is precisely why military personnel are subjected to military justice. The civilian population fund the arming of our armed forces to protect the people. THEY ARE TRAINED TO CARRY GUNS SO THEY CAN PROTECT THE PEOPLE.

Policemen are also subjected to the same decisions. . . when to fire at someone justifiably. This is part of their job description.

I don't understand why to you MURDER is justified just because nasuko ang guard kay napildi siya sa fistfight.

As you said, THINK because if you were in the same situation then preso sad ka pareho sa guardia. . . kung OK ra nimo ma preso ka then DON'T THINK. . .
