i agree with dexterdal..its so easy for us to say nga the guard should have practiced restrained, shouldnt have let his emotions control him and all that bull. put yourself in his position..you were just doing your job and here's a guy who mauls you..for doing your job. if the guard didnt pull out his gun, he would have continued mauling the guard. notice that the report said that he only ran away when he noticed the guard starting to pull his gun. if you were in the guard's shoes, you got mauled for performing your duty, wouldnt your emotions have overrun you na by that time? trust me..each one of us has it in us to kill anybody..given the right motivation (as what ang g.example ni dexterdal). ang person mu deny ani is simply a hypocrite. although the circumstances may have been trivial in our eyes, but to the guard, it may have already been enough. or at that precise moment, maybe it was just his emotions guiding his actions. after all, when you're in a fistfight, are you still thinking or are you just punching the hell out of your opponent?

as the line in BLACK HAWK DOWN goes, "once the bullets start to fly, you can thorw politics outside the window". bogo lang jud tong tawhana..picking a fight with a person who had a gun. as SUN TZU said in the art of war "Know thy Enemy"

if you were in the guard's shoes, you got mauled for performing your duty, wouldnt your emotions have overrun you na by that time? trust me..each one of us has it in us to kill anybody..given the right motivation (as what ang g.example ni dexterdal). ang person mu deny ani is simply a hypocrite.

Unfortunately, Filipino's are the more hypocrites than blacks. And anything that would damage the Filipino image would bring out their ire.

there is just no justification for someone shooting another person when the other person is RUNNING AWAY.
that's not self-defense.
people armed with guns are supposed to be trained to issue restraint and follow their training re rules of engagement because if they did not follow their training, then not only drivers but also lolas and lolos would be lying dead. (as you may have noticed, daghan sad badlungon nga mga tiguwang nga dili mo follow ug rules inside the mall, etc.; ang uban badlungon sa guard dili gihapon patoo. does this mean the guard is JUSTIFIED in shooting these people just becaituse nagpabadlong?)

When they had a fist fight that was the right thing to do. sukmagayon nato then humana(settle it like men). . . killing another person while his back is turned is another story. . . however you may look at it, it is still murder.

that's too easy for you to say....you werent the one getting mauled. can you really control yourself when you are already beaten up? remember, the guard was getting beat up and the cabbi only backed off and started to run away the moment the guard unholstered his side arm.
