The unforgivable sin of speaking against the Holy Spirit has been interpreted in various ways, but the true meaning cannot contradict other Scripture. It is unequivocally clear that the one unforgivable sin is permanently rejecting Christ (John 3:18; 3:36). Thus, speaking against the Holy Spirit is equivalent to rejecting Christ with such finality that no future repentance is possible. 'My spirit shall not always strive with man,' God said long ago.it is interpreted as : IF YOU TOTALLY REJECT GOD (Father, Son, and/or Spirit), this will be unforgivable. it makes sense that if you totally reject God, then, you would not make your mind up to repent and ask forgiveness. The person who rejects the Spirit's message about Jesus will not be forgiven. Anyone who seeks Jesus' forgiveness certainly has not committed the unforgivable sin.In the context of this particular passage (Matthew 12:22-32), Jesus had performed a great miracle of creation, involving both healing and casting out a demon, but the Pharisees rejected this clear witness of the Holy Spirit. Instead they attributed His powers to Satan, thus demonstrating an attitude permanently resistant to the Spirit, and to the deity and saving Gospel of Christ
it is funny how you reply to my posts without thinking/understanding them.do you even know what ab absurdo means? and to answer your 2nd question: a Christian does not intend to read other sacred scripture to guide his FAITH other than the Bible. in the same way, a Muslim would recognize only the Qu'ran as his holy book. do you actually think that real Christians/Muslims/Buddhists read the Avesta for guidance in terms of FAITH? (or vice-versa)

did you know that the Bible is a literary work inspired by God? there are things in the Bible that cannot be taken literally, whilst others need common sense. the Bible CANNOT contradict itself. these are the passages saying that ALL SINS CAN BE FORGIVEN:
Psalm 85:2
Psalm 103: 2-3"Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered ALL their sin"
Isaiah 1:18Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; Who pardons ALL your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases;
Isaiah 55:6-7Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
1 John 1:9Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let wicked people abandon their ways. Let evil people abandon their thoughts. Let them return to the LORD, and he will show compassion to them. Let them return to our God, because he will freely forgive them.
clearly, the difficulty here is in the understanding of the "unforgivable" sin. to put it briefly, it is "unforgivable", as so, only when we REJECT forgiveness.If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness.
i rest my case. as this now becomes OT.
