the reason why mayor Osmena somewhat condones vigilantism in cebu it's because of the rising up of petty crime rates in the city last year..now when this vigilanties operated, the crime rates drastically sloped down thus only showed the effectiveness of this method of crime busting..majority of the people don't express opposition on this method that is why the vigilanties find reason why they should not cease their operation..As for "lessons"... doesn't vigilante action also give the lesson that "it's ok to take the law into your own hands" and "if you believe someone has committed a crime, don't call the cops, just salvage him".... Are those lessons you want your kids to learn?
taking the law in the hands of vigilanties is justifiable since first of all they are only after criminal elements, secondly majority of the people support this group because they are proven to be effective in lowering down the city's crime rate.
NOW WOULD YOU ALSO ALLOW YOUR CHILDREN TO LIVE IN A CITY SWARMED WITH CROOKS?
like i said, there are 100+ proven criminals down already..therefore 100 less crooks down..DON'T YOU LIKE IT THAT WAY INSTEAD OF 100 ADDITIONAL CRIMINALS ROAMING THE CITY??
i hope and pray that you'll be one of the victims of these crooks so that you may understand..somehow
bro bert...as i've said in the above post, this vigilantism is justifiable as long as they are after the evils in our society..i know that what the vigilanties are doing [like killing] is against the laws of man and God, but we'll have to take into consideration also that in order for the good people to live freely the wicked should be cast outed indefinitely..Originally Posted by giver_bert

this is the whole idea of "us" pro V's. If our so called Law is perfect in every way, then i will condemn the V-killings, but it's not, its corrupt to the core.Originally Posted by tolstoi
And for the record, the sole reason why i salute this V-killings is because of my murdered uncle. He was a prominent businessman in our city ( no need to tell you his real name ), he was shot dead at three in the afternoon, IN HIS OWN OFFICE. The gunman/killer was aprehended a week later, all the evidence was there ( including a testimony from the killer's own brother about the plan to kill my uncle ) but the said killer has his contacts with the military, and because of that the court hearings were VERY much delayed. And what's worst was the motive: IT WAS PLAIN JEALOUSY. Even my uncle's lawyer said that they will encounter tough competition because of the suspects strong military connection. Only one hearing took place because the suspect died of a freak accident. This is what i hate about "not guilty until proven so". The evidence were there, concrete evidence and even so because of the influential men behind the killer, my uncle still has a 50/50 chance of winning the case.
And my "other" reasons.....my cousin had her cellphone taken away from her in a jeepney AT GUNPOINT. My sister had her necklace lashed off of her. My wife was in a jeepney holdup situation.
Instead .. why not our local PULIS PATOLA help the VIGILANTES take care of the criminal elements so Cebu will be liveable by 2015 . BTW ... unsay basehan sa CEBU CITY = MURDER CITY ? Pangita daw mo ug syudad na walay MURDER nahitabo , kana ZERO CASULATIES gyud kay ako una mo pakyaw ug yuta didto and also award them the name of PEACEFUL CITY .

The vigilantes HAVE KILLED INNOCENT PEOPLE! Those murderous vigilantes shoot first and ask questions later.Originally Posted by kamikazeniel

Your experience does NOT justify the murder of those who did not kill your uncle.Originally Posted by fingolfin
My own grandfather, a judge, was murdered by convicts who he sentenced but were released by the Japanese. But I'm not stupid enough to blame all those other "convicts" who did NOT kill him. That would be a blanket condemnation of people who had nothing to do with the crime. It's plain dumb.
Two wrongs do not make one right. It just makes two wrongs.
killing a hundred crooks will save or at least thwart a thousands of crooks not to do much evilness in the society.Originally Posted by mannyamador
same people, same arguement. this is endless. each of us has our own stand on V killings. and as for me, my conviction is strong. i am pro-V killings.
