i myself sometimes find both of them boring kadugayan. lahi sila og genre thats a fact. all the more reason ngano dili sila dapat icompare.

i like YJM better than i like vai. i think its because of yngwie's vibrato. im sure mastertrollz will agree. di ba mastertrollz? hehe

not to boast but u knw i hav bn a guitarist for almost 10 yrs now, i am an ex-lead guitarist of the band who popularized the hit song "agay" and like most of the guitarists out there, i admit there was a point in time wer i become so obssesed with it, d nlng gud hapit mukaon mg.cge nlng kitiw2 sa gitara. wat i learnd from my 10 yrs of guitaring is that, every guitarist has their own expertise in music. between vai and malmsteen, i like the latter most. thou thats my preference, we should not compare both entities for they are tantamount, as far as music is concernd. depende nana' nimo as an amateur guitarist whom youll get ur influence, whose style you will follow. from both of them, u can learn ur licks and guitar moves, 1/2 malmsteen, 1/2 steve vai, who knows, after years of exposure to their music,u'll begin to adopt their styles, and from then on a new breed of guitarist will emerge in you.

Vai, on the other hand is a very2x emotional player,..his songs, tunes, melodies, even the licks are all filled with emotions,..the way he is on stage is totally very different from other performers,he expresses every bit of emotion during a song, and not surprisingly,he doesn't look like a show-off on stage...truly one of the greatest human beings to ever play the guitar....and best of all,he is not arrogant like Malmsteen...

my favorite vai songs are Answers and Brother.....
Thats the same for malmsteen too, the deference is maybe yngvie is arrogant. Malmsteen is always thankful to Jimi Hendrix and Ritchie Blackmore not just appreciate them but a gratitude.. One thing we knw that He is the former axe slinger of ALCATRAZ... lolz! and steal the audience attentions. Malmsteen is a very emotional musician that results to a FRET-brutality and i always love his classical type of music. And about his attitude?--well, i like the way he is for some reasons, hehehehe thats my secret! and lastly-- we cant judge others. i also love Satriani, vai, etc.... most is Steve Lukather....

Have a great day PGM, nice posting! thanks
