i love them both, yngvie has his own way as well as vai too, therefore they're not the same but like them same.

Yngwie is an *ss...very very fast player,but songwriting wise,he suck...attitude wise,he also suck...he also doesn't know how to appreciate other musicians craft....i've read that guitar world magazine issue you were talkin about,and i just wanted to tear it of and throw it away,..the only thing that he does that i admire is him spinning the guitar (probably because am never gonna be able to do that my whole life...hehe)

Vai, on the other hand is a very2x emotional player,..his songs,tunes,melodies,even the licks are all filled with emotions,..the way he is on stage is totally very different from other performers,he expresses every bit of emotion during a song,and not surprisingly,he doesn't look like a show-off on stage...truly one of the greatest human beings to ever play the guitar....and best of all,he is not arrogant like Malmsteen...

my favorite vai songs are Answers and Brother.....

I heard malmsteen albums and it all sounds the same, more of speed than quality.
Steve Vai is my favorite plays with heart and soul, i even try dosing off just listening to his music.
