i doubt if GMA can be compared to Margaret Thatcher, Mary McAleese of Ireland, Indira Gandhi of India, Isabel Martinez de Peron of Argentina, Lien Chan of Taiwan. we seem to forget that she is the most unpopular president, ever.

it doesn't matter if u compare PGMA to them or not. my point of the matter is that we shouldn't discriminate women leaders coz they are much capable as men do (except the case of madam cory).

Fact is, PGMA may be unpopular but she made it to one of the top most influential women in the world. I think she even made it to top 5th.

now back to the topic, do u think hurling expletives by Mar could do him good? i don't think so. he may satisfy a few (say what they want to hear) but not necessary the majority of Filipinos who still are conservative Catholics and value the virtues needed of a public servant they voted into office.

Mar Roxas should ask W. Bush a 5 minute lesson on how to be a good statesman. "W" was nearly smacked down by a size 10 and got a lot of worst booing from all over but we havn't heard him said a darn Texan profanity.

mind u, my point is not hypocrisy in any way. yes, we may blow our top sometimes but it totally depends on the situation, the control, and the WORDS spoken.

A father may blow his top inside his house but enough to let a few neighbors to hear it. some may not like it but it's his abode. how he handled his angst spells his character and reputation in the community, either as a basagulero or a reputable head of family.

A senator may blow his top sometimes but in the confines of his office where some of his staff hears it. of course it is business. he may be branded as a "terror" or somebody who uses verbal harassment to his employees.

A president like PGMA sometimes blows her top and in the process humiliates her cabinet secretaries in public, but did we hear any cuss words like "Tang ina?"

Mar Roxas, a senator and supposedly a statesman and a presidentiable hurl expletives in plain public view is something uncalled for. it's plain irresponsible.

If you say what Mar Roxas did was tolerable & understandable, i call that hypocrisy instead. Let's be real here amigos...

Downplaying this statesmanship error and verbal immorality and saying "this is no big deal" cannot justify any of your arguments. besides, how many of our posters here already said they didn't like what he said? Let's be real here...plain and simple.

even the current president can get carried away when she blows her top, that's why her economic adviser calls her a bitch.
