Cheaptech is obviously taking sides... hehehe posting sarcastic message here wont help bro.. so pls watch your words.. hehehe peace...
@cheaptech...
I guess what gotdalife is trying to say is that if management promises, whether written or verbal... it should have been done in an honest manner... Management, whether or not it was the policy of the restaurant to ask for the bill for a function immediately (which mind you can be different from how a normal trip to the restaurant works), should not have backed off from their promises. I don't think its fair to the customers.
Regarding your "This is ABSURD.... unsa may paliton nga INGREDIENTS and MEAT sunod adlaw SAGBOT?" statement. I'm pretty sure they don't just serve one customer at a time! and why don't YOU use your so-called "common sense"... Sarcasm sucks huh? haha..
And yes i do agree that only the written agreement carries weight... BUT!!!!! Deception is something else totally... its a matter of principle....
I'm taking the side of COMMON SENSE......
Number 1. Pag pa cater kuno sulay.... any restaurant you want.... mo COLLECT gyud na bayad sa human....
Number 2.
Once again you preach common sense.. but your not using any yourself... Functions operate differently from a normal day-to-day operation of a restaurant... the agreement whether or not verbal or written happens to be what takes its place during a function...
Balik-balik..... WHy don't you organize a CATERING.... let's see if they won't ask for payment after.... If yo don't pay cash they will ASK for a cheque( even if its post dated)
You can call the Yellow pages of the directory..... CALL all the caterers you want.... ask for payment terms....
start with
Grand Convention
Waterfront
Shangrila
Plantation bay
Joven's Grill
Neo Neo
Mang inasal....
Sarcastic.... its another way of putting... use your common sense......
Functions....
TAWAGI lagi.
Marco polo
Shangrila
Plantation bay
Grand convention
etc..... ask them for payment... simple as that....

I did try some of those places...
Particularly Waterfront, Plantation Bay, Neo neo....
I did ask them for terms and if I am familiar with the management they don't mind that they have someone go to my office and collect a cheque... they don't mind at all... Once again... case-to-case basis.... not like what you said pay up front... that just so happens to be for people they aren't familiar with... and in some cases a restaurant wouldn't mind if it's a company party at all.. considering they have a permanent office etc... common sense....
Oh marco polo as well too
And if i'm not mistaken gotdalife did just mention about the champagne... so that probably means a certain downpayment has already been paid for.... its called back-reading and once again common sense

@TS: unusual lage inyung kasabotan. normally in restaurants/hotels, you are required to pay 50% downpayment days before the event, and the balance a day before or on the day of the event. ang mobayad kay ang nag pirma sa function contract.
The funniest line ever....(cash, kay ang nagkupot sa checkbook sa company, niuli na)
Wa diay siya kahibaw nga company mo bayad?
MAO lagi
ASA naman to ga dala sa CHECKBOOK
if naa ra then wala ta sila ni kuot sa ilang BULSA... end of story nata diba!!! write a cheque then its done....

failure pod ni sa organizer sa party. dapat klaro ang tanan sa kontrata. i check pod ang lugar hours before the event.
Sa tanan kasal sa akong igsu-on mga ig agaw.... right sa pag homan sa event.... naay Cheque gi fill up ug bayad diretso after pag compute sa tanan......
Common sense....
