Default PT-04 Wireless Trigger Issues (2nd post)

Boss mark, I have a prob with my PT-04 Wireless Trigger

I tried using it with my D70 with a SunPak flash and it works fine.
However, when I use it with my D80 and at 1/800 or faster shutter speeds, the camera seems to open only half-way. This is manifested in the photo with only half of the subject visible and the other half completely dark. I checked every setting on the flash and the D80 and everything is fine (worked fine on the D70).
Hope someone can enlighten me on this.
(mods, sorry for the double post but since most people ask Mark about techie issues, I guess he can help me out on this. The other post is in the photography forum. Had to post there too hoping someone has figured out how to deal with this issue about the the PT-04 wireless trigger)

there is a limit to flash sync speed specific to cameras/flashes... recommend shutter speed under manual flash is below 1/200 for best compatibility. (this goes the same for studio flash and any other strobe flash)

the ability to sync flash at speeds above 1/250 requires high speed sync activated in the custom setting and/or the flash unit itself via a special setting...

this is not a wireless trigger issue

    Default Hs synch

Hi! I also have similar set-up. I got D80, Cactus V2 transmitter and two receivers, 1 Sb-600 and 1 Vivitar 285HV. I also notice that the camera seems to open half way and there is no high-speed synching going on even though I set the customer set-up to Auto FP. I read somewhere that I can put SB-800 into the camera shotshoot and use a PC cord to connect my transmitter to the SB-800 and that it can only fire my other SB-600 and Vivitar 285HV. The thing is, with that set-up I need SB-800(or SB-900) to do just that and an extra receiver...Bot this gets very expensive...Does anyone have a more cheap solution to this?
