laina dyud technical problem sa police! WT*!
If I am the owner of such business entities specially that are subjected to CRIME ie JEWELRY STORES , MONEY CHANGING OUTLETS , etc ... SECURITY MEASURES should be well planned also . If it takes 2 security guards to be hired with high power firearms also , I would go for it or be sorry .
To all who criticizes the SECURITIES of the MALL ... I know they were relax and lenient in the search and inspection part but I do hope that you guys will also realize that if you were in their shoes also being pointed with a pistol maybe loaded with a 5.56 ammo , save the day ! Be a hero !

The point is , bisan the whole agency pa na ang ibutang nimo na sikyo diha but then all carried revolvers that was probably last shot a years or so compared to the rifles of the robbers na seasoned kaayo would still not matter . Puliki man gani ang typical pulis much more on a " rent a cop " .
Ako gusto lang ipasabot , tuod the presence of the SECURITY PEOPLE will lessen crimes . Yes crimes ( PETTY ) committed by kids , gangbangers , shoplifters , etc ... not with organize crime personnel . These are planned and executed perfectly by your not typical next door neighbor but probably robbery groups operating in the Visayas and Mindanao areas . Imagine ... the entrance and exit with the action in between it occured only in 3 minutes ? 2 ka escalator pa na ang sakhon nila ha .
I would rather blame it on the police , downed call system excuses no one even all the way to the top brasses of PNP . I do hope ma materialized to ang gisulti ni Hon. Jack na centralized system of emergency calls wired not only to the POLICE STATIONS but also to the FIRE STATIONS and ERUF .

I would agree. That should be the only way to do it.
I do not blame the security guys who were there for this lapse. They are doing a job with what they have. But for the security agency that provided the guards, now that's a different story.
I'm not sure how it's done but aren't security agencies required to identify immediate threats to the customers in terms of location of the store, what the store owner needs to install, etc. and probably teach their guards how to detect and siguro preempt such threats?
Might just be me, pero when you say "security" I take it you are considering the whole picture and not just let someone stand on the doorway to stare at people passing by.![]()
I for one had the oppurtunity to attend a seminar and get trained to qualify in ANTI TERRORISM CAMPAIGNS when I was in active duty during that time frame . I would supposed that that guards were caught off guard since they were disarmed . A lot of factors contributes to the scheme . I dont know if it applies here locally but incidents like these , LIFE has to be valued . Material things can be acquired sooner or later . If the case is ni sukol ang guard , that is his or her call and not the agencies policy . The sidearm is for SELF DEFENSE only .
Guards in the doorway are considered SENTRIES , they are the one responsible for the ttraffic of the people by foot . You are probably are referring to the ROVERS who patrols and could be both in a car or by foot .

sayop ko..
Makes sense. I don't think guards can handle a firefight anyway should they decide to exchange hot lead with perps wielding a .45 or a volley of 5.56 rounds when they're only issued creaky .38 revolvers. It'd rather be a good idea to be submissive rather than mosukol nya naa pa noon laing tawo maigo...
What I think these guards should be good at is giving information to the police about what they noticed about the perps during the heist. Things like height and build, how they carried their weapons (duna ba military experience or wa), language used, tats and piercings (if any), knowledge of the immediate area, and even siguro what type of shoes they wore.
Yeah. I'm not really sure how mall guard agencies operate so I'll leave that to someone who really knows.
Agreed that most guards you see look bored and almost ready to sleep, but there are guards I've seen that from their mere body posture would be considered a deterrent already na makaduha-duha na ang tulisan -- alert and aware of the surroundings, standing straight, and a 12-gauge shotgun slung around his neck with the finger off the trigger hehehehe
kuyawa sa ana na mall..
