technically, the 2 might be separate entities BUT if the landowner, which i believe is the province will ultimately find that either high school or college is not serving the masses well therefore both entities cannot justify their purpose then both entities might be scrapped altogether.
if the province can have viscom moved in the name of commercial progress, what can stop them from closing or moving UP high and college?
i am not against UP but that is the reality, nothing personal here.
hain kahag i sirado sa nila ang mga adikan diha sa camputhaw usa sila mag huna huna ug sira sa UP High...
the whole place is very well used by the university. it wouldn't be the University of the Philippines, if it's small. it's not just also for school purposes, it's open to the public for use.
and each campus has its own programs offered to its students.
neither of the two should be closed down.
what province owns the lot of UP Cebu? it's the Philippine government that owns. Cebu province is under the Philippines.
who said it doesn't serve the masses well? other people even use the campus for public services and even for other schools that tie up with UP for activities.
nganu gud tawn sirado nang UP HIgh, mga bang-giitan nga studyante dha gikan, same with UP College...
nganu issue man kaayo nga ipa close ang UP college because gamay ra ang course gi-offer?! i think the offered courses depends if kaya bah sa budget gamay ra bya intawn kwarta ang UP mau gani nag tuition increase kay ang gobyerno gamay ra budget and also even if gamay ra courses quality man sad nga education ghatag.. speaking of the lot nga gi-occupy mau na lng gani na ang matabang sa government to help the university dapat gyud ila na ipa gamit kay wala man giusikan, gigamit man sa mga estudyante...

UP is a school and not a money generating establishment. the college is serving it's purpose very well, not only in producing competent graduates but also in research as well. UP professors are even tapped by the government and private firms regularly for researches.
when i was still in UP way back, one of my professors have mentioned that the lot occupied by the people at camputhaw is a UP lot, even those at the back of the dorm. we might consider first on getting rid of these squatters rather than closing UP down, that is a big piece of land.
