rationale of former senator sonny osmena was, the value of the lot it is occupying outweighs the university's purpose. I hate to agree with him but her is right.

it's the high school,dude... and even if it's the college ila ipa-close, dli sad jud gihapun pwede... there are students and the parents who would want to be in cebu but still in a school that is part of the UP system. no matter how big the lot would be for the students who occupy it.

but i just hope the reason of UP Cebu existing would be valued by the people in it. live the UP spirit. be the UP.

ang kuyaw,basin mapareha lang sa tuition fee hike... bsag supak pa ang majority of students, gibalewala amu voice.

bitaw dugay na kaayo na issue.. daghan man unta mga alumni na makatabang gyud... daghan sad mga influential na people karon gikan baya sa UP High... wala pa receive batch namin noh mga plans eh pra makatabang...

daku naman ang tuition sa UP college... tanan kay bracket 9 naman tingali... 600 per units naman tingali sila.. sa una kay 300 lang... dili mapaclose UP college kay saka man tution fee...

its no longer democratized access for a quality education for the masses....

Lytslpr sorry to say that you may have been "lightly sleeping" when you made your post.My friend please read the thread title, it is the High School that is being closed. Start your own thread if
have an issue with U.P.Cebu ( i presume college) needing to closed because it does not have more courses.

it's moot and academic, if either High School or College is closed down, that means UP Cebu in general will be closed down.

i'll level with you, if it should not be closed down for the less fortunate, then it should be moved somewhere else because if they cannot offer more sections for high school or more courses for college, then they have no business occupying the lot they are using.

the two are separate entities and each can exist without the other and i believe the college is doing quite well. what you're suggesting is just like saying that a person must be killed because he's got a broken arm.

i agree with piolo_askal, they are two separate entities bro Lytslpr. if i.close ang UP high, it doesnt mean na iclose pud ang college. since nag tuition fee increase na ang UP college, i think the possibility na iclose sila kay less or wla na jud. sufficient na guro pud tong increase nila oi. di naman gani ka afford ang target students nila (those na dili ka afford muskwela ug college).

naa naman pud mga actions ang UP high alumni but i think dili jud japon enough. like atong tuition fee increase sa college, bisag kapila pag rally and all sorts of actions na supak ang mga estudyante, wa lang gihapon nahimo. i really do hope na maka abot pa ang UP high ug new president sa Pilipinas na i save ang existence nila or mayta naay other ways na dili jud sila i close.
