red meat is an integral part of a well balanced diet. it is the best source for high quality protein and easily absorbed iron. there is nothing wrong and dangerous about eating red meat if consumed in moderate amount. the key word is "moderate". anything too much is not good, even vegetables.

I don't believe red meat is needed in the diet. we can still get protein from plant sources.

Mas maayo gyud dili mokaon ug pork, nya saon ta man lami man jud ang humba ug breaded pork chop! Unya usahay lisod pa gyud pangita-on ang mga pagkaon nga masustansiya nga walay pork/red meat, labi na sa mga malls, if naa man gani, mahal pa jud! nindot ni nga opportunity mag business ug Dieters/Vegetarians/For the Health-Conscious Restaurants!
In addition, I have known a case nga wa kalarga sa gawas tungod daghan ug ulod sa iyang body, as in ulod from meat not properly cooked. And also there was one episode about ani sa hit TV series nga Dr. House wherein mokalit lang nga naay seizure ang patient, then later on na find out nga ni-abot na diay sa iyang utok ang ulod, but eventually gitambal sa iyaha kay pampurga ra . So let's better watch our diet nalang and magpurga at least once a year! ok ba?

@RODION: thanks for the info! Hinaut daghan ang makabasa ani nga thread para magmatngon pud sila sa ilang gikaon kay we are what we eat man kuno!

i just remember how Travis Barker whose been a vegetarian for years ate lotsa meat to recover quickly from his burns... doctor advise.

now if he'd been eating veggies would he recover quicker? nope.

all these food mother nature gave us has a place in our nutrition.. meat, veggies or otherwise.

i have yet to see a vegetarian who can pack on mass on his physique.

REMINDER: This is not a vegan vs. meat-eater thread, goryo and Sol_itaire, so stop bashing each other's nutritional beliefs.

This thread is about the effects of red meat on the walls of intestines, that makes it more prone to intestinal germ attack, comprende? Take your battles somewhere else.

rodsky read my post. where did i say veggie is bad?

i said both have a place in one's nutrition so skip the "bashing" word cos i love veggies and i dig tofu, gluten and soya.

You didn't. You implied by your posts that:

    a) Vegans will never be muscle-bound

    b) Vegans will have a much harder time recovering from burns.

phrases which are basically "taunts" and will provoke a Vegan to post "in defense" of their vegan ideals here, which I don't want. Let's get back to talking about the GERM, please.
