its either A10 or Su 25.. Pero Su 25 is better than A10.. in terms of performance, maintenance and price.
I disagree.. Hind is a flying tank.. heavily-armored ni cya.. unless naay stinger missiles ang MILF.. shot down jud ni..
So far wala may shot down nga light-armored Huey from enemy fire.. but mechanical failure ra.

Kung gusto ninyo ug hi tech jets, kaya kaayo na paliton sa pilipinas. Ang problema diha nga dako kaayo, ang pag maintain ug pag train sa mga personnel like pilots and mechanics ug uban pa like spare parts and armaments. Mao na ang dako kaayo ug gikinahanglan nga budget. Maglisod man gani ang goberno pag maintain sa usa ka C-130, kana pang hi tech nga jets?
ngayo lang nya ta ni obama ug dli na gamiton nga plane sa US
wala ta magkinahanglan ana oi bec. we have the naga and sequijor we can fly without wings and catch me if you can he he he
Brod uyon ko nimo 110%..
The A-10 warthogs is the best plane for the Philippines...slow but sure and just plain deadly..aw!
then, buy F-16s for fast air support. cheap but the old reliable.
Next, we should buy the Eurocopter, it is the Apache counter-part but less cheaper. For close-in air support. Can't get any better than that.
Then, we should by CV-22's because they don't need airports and flies faster and carries more load than the Chinook.
Can I continue kay giganahan ko...
To rock the boat more..paliton nalang nato ang gi pang decomissioned na cannon based destroyers sa US. We dont need missiles (for now) we just need heavy sea-based artillery that can hop from island to island chasing the MILF/MNLF and NPAs.
Bomb em!
wow, ug mao nai atong mga gipanggamit dri bai, sure ko pulbos jud na sila...
CAS is more effectively (i.e. commensurate, in terms of cost over results) done by dedicated ground attack a/c (i.e. A-10, Frogfoot, etc.) rather than MRCA's (i.e. F-16C, Tornado, etc.). Furthermore, attack helos (esp. the Apache/Apache Longbow) have inflicted better statistics in CAS ops compared to all types of fixed wing a/c combined.
MRCA's are better suited to situations wherein a CAS op has to be made, pero naay posebilidad nga naay enemy a/c's in the target area. Since A-10's and choppers are practically sitting ducks in cases like this, F-16's, the JAS Gripen, and the Tornado are well suited for such tasks. Now don't tell me the NPA has any jets.
IMHO, if we do need MRCA's, in lieu of the F-16C, a wiser choice cost-wise (i.e. if I was asked to recommend what to buy for our air force) is the Swedish JAS Gripen. Can do most things an F-16C can do, for less. And this statement comes from a Viper die hard, and someone who is fanatic enough to know exactly how to cold-start a Viper.

I love the F-16, but when belt-tightening is the more important issue, the Gripen will do fine.

Cool with me. The louder the merrier. I just like the idea of the Warthog, although the initially cost would be high, the maintenance of this beast is remarkably low. Unless we start using the depleted Uranium shells, which we will not need against the rebels. Have you seen this beast fired its bloody cannon? Man, it rocks!
For choppers...hmmm the Bell AH-1 Cobra I think would do just fine. We don't need the expensive Apache though. Heck, I would even think the AH-6 Little Bird could do the job as well, it just need to be armed to the teeth.
