Come on guys. Haven't you read what malic posted in his other thread? That islam does not in any way condone to violent acts. The basic teaching of islam is the same as that with christianity, buddhism, confucianism... love your god, love yourself, love others. all other commandments that fall below this is relatively less important. One may think that he's justified to comitting violent act because
a) He loves his god - that's why he's making this to protect him
b) He loves his self
But where is "Loving others?" It still should precede act of hurting and killing for the sake of religion. Christians have their share of violence also. I am a Catholic. I just hope that in the near future, all of us would gather in one roof. Some may chant Allah, some Lord, Jesus Christ, some Buddha, but the most important is the love that is in our hearts for our god, for humanity. I know some will be against it, but wouldn't it be more fulfilling as a practitioner of faith that at last all of us are one under god. Just maybe... IMAGINE of John Lenon will become reality.

Coming of the Great Prophet:

He was by far the most remarkable man that ever set foot on this earth.

During this short period of 23 years of his Prophethood, He changed the complete Arabian Peninsula from paganism and idolatry to worship of One God, from tribal quarrels and wars to national solidarity and cohesion, from drunkenness and debauchery to sobriety and piety, from lawlessness and anarchy to disciplined living, from utter bankruptcy to the highest standards of moral excellence.

I guess these great minds have their own opinion including the personalities you quoted in your post.

But one thing is sure...Sir Churchill and Sir Russel never saw it coming the rise of islam in Europe. Thats what make one wonder,inspite of the antagonistic point of view made by these Great European leaders,Islam propagated tremendously in there. I guess his statement never had an impact at all in the hearts of some Europeans.
