    its not for invasion but air-support against rebels.... who wants to invade our country? wala man tay oil...

    We dont need AIR POWER from the PHILIPPINE AIR FORCE . Against whom ? NPA and the insurgents in the south ? You gotta be kidding .... ponder on RODSKY's post " MILITARY POWER = ECONOMIC POWER " .
    " A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. " - 2nd Amendment , Bill of Rights of the United States of America

    Di ra man combat role ang duty sa atong airforce. Apil man pud relief operation ug disaster response. Kana diay airlift sila ug relief goods ug tabang search and rescue, di diay na importante? How can you show you have economic power when you can't respond to the needs of your people especially on their dire need? Bagyohon na pud ta ug kusog ug baha-on ngayo na pud ta assistance sa US or other nations. Asa man mas maayo nga ato-ang kaugalingon airforce ang mag airlift sa mga relief goods, mangita ug mo rescue sa ato-ang citizen. Di ba na makatabang ug win sa hearts and mind nga usa sa mga requirement para makawin ug war. Kahinumdum mo atong sundalo nga namatay na lang kay way night capability ang atong helicopter para mo airlift niya? Wa na lang diay to siya kwenta? Unsa-on na man lang ang uban sundalo nga masamdan sa mga umaabot pang gubat?

    @peewee_tot

    Kinsa man ang naay homecourt advantage? milf/ASG or AFP?
    Kinsa man nagdako anang mga bukira? milf/ASG or AFP?
    Kinsa man ang naay mga parente nga mutabang ug salipud nila anang lugara? milf/ASG or AFP?
    Asa man makadali ug assist kung ma pindown ang infantry sa mga bukid bukid nga walay dalan? Tanke/APC or OV-10/MG-520?
    Unsa man makadali ug evacuate sa wounded sa combat? Trak o helicopter?

    Frankly, i don't care if MILF/NPA/ASG will need air support. What I wish for is that when our brave troops need air support or airlift to safety, the PAF can deliver.

    History showed that airpower is essential in winning wars. Na prove na pag WWII. Miskan sa Vietnam dako kaayog tabang ang airsupport. Miskan pilde ang US stratigically ug politically, it was a tactical success for the US Military. Dile maihap ang sundalo nga nasalbar sa air power sa US pag Vietnam war. If naa tay capable airforce to support our infantry, mas effective ang campaign sa atong mga sundalo. Yes airpower may not be an end all solution pero it gives the area commanders tactical flexibility. History has proven that. A modern airforce will help secure the sovereignty and stability of our country. And if i-prioritize sa PAF ang transport/airlift, SAR/CSAR capability and palit sila helicopter nga perform as troop transport/cas instead of costly and less effective fast movers, mas maayo kay apil civilians matabangan.

    taxpayer money, instead of using it to get newer jets and stuff (and not to mention get better public education systems, and so on and so forth), is being used to buy the newest SUV as a gift for concubines, to keep them quiet. who are these people? do i really have to answer?
