oh ok... wala nkoy problema sa booting time, kasabot nko ngano.hehe..
pro dba kng dako ang RAM mas pas2x na ang pc nig sud na sa OS? wla jd kalahi-an ang speed nko kad2 512MB pko compared karun na 2GIGs na.. ang response time mg open kog browser hinay mn gihapon.. dapat unta pas2x na dba? or sayop lng ang interpretation nko about RAM speed?

ang memory nga dako mas ma-appreciate nimo kung daghan ka programs i-open simultaneously. sa pag-open sa usa ka program, mas dependent na siya sa ram speed rather than ram amount (including and condition sa imong HDD like speed niya, files and vacant spaces, or grabe ba ka fragmented imong hard disk).

naa pud programs that requires bigger mems like photoshop or autocad, so kung gamay ra imo ram, magkamang jud imo pc.

if u want nga medyo paspas imong pc, clean your registry, recycle bin, temporary files (internet and program-related), and your casing.

ram speed, pag office and internet surfing, d kaayo na nimo ma-appreciate kay n milliseconds ra na. kung naay programs that require fast changes sa dispay sa monitor, like games and videos, then u would feel and difference.

unsa man imo HDD? 5400 or 7200? if 7200 sata na ang interface? pila ang cache sa imo HDD? try checking sa read and write speed sa imo HDD... basin imo HDD ang bottleneck dili ang RAM...

what happens in opening a program/application + running an application:

    • The CPU instructs the HDD to gather all information/load the data (this is the only part where the application is loading, all the rest occur afterwards)
    • The CPU processes the data loaded by the HDD, using a very fast memory (L1, L2 and L3 caches)
    • If the CPU cache is not enough, the CPU uses slower memory, the RAM
    • In the event that RAM is not enough, the CPU uses the HDD as a temporary memory tank (the HDD is the slowest among the three memories)

so basically, in loading a program/application, the HDD is much more important than the RAM. there are 3 things you need to note in a HDD, the interface, the HDD spin[for mechanical], and the cache. better numbers for these three would mostly result into faster loading times for your programs. if you want your programs to load faster. buy a 10K(or 15K)RPM HDD or a SSD.

Wa jud na kalahian bro DDR400 is not that fast it belongs to old ram speed. Mahal kaayo ang DDR400 not worth it.

Akong old PC here w/ 4GB ddr400 ok raman cya pero limited ra jud iyang speed, dili nalang mo hang kay dako man ug ram pero dili jud paspas ug process coz ang procie nako old man AMD socket A.
