sata & ide: conflict

i need some suggestions mga bro coz i experienced incompatability between my hard drives. System can't continue loading and restarts whenever i attach my ide drive to my mobo that runs with my sata. Same as when i attach my sata drive to the mobo that runs with ide. What should i do? Thanks

i also have that problem before with motherboards with intel 945 chipsets. if you install your os to the sata drive then add an ide harddrive, it will result to a bluescreen. what i did was i installed my os in the ide harddrive and from then, my problem was solved. even if i put a sata harddrive, it doesnt result to a bluescreen.

this same as true with my 865gv ( and to the other 4 865gv springdale ) mobo i used/fix/install.

what i did was.i update the bios.. then put the sata configuration into NATIVE mode..where in i enables 2 SATA ports + 2 EDIE PATA ports..6 drives tanan.

then, the most stable configuration is :

hdd boot priority : EDIE PATA | SATA | ....| ....| disabled ( depende how many disk u have. basta last and SATA )

since ma in-ani ni: ex

primary master : st380++++
primary slave : st3160+++

secondary master : LG+++++ dvdrw
secondary slave : lite++++dvdrom

sata master03 : st3160S+++
sata master04 : st3250S+++


then boot priority is : cd/dvd | HDD | disabled

Dakog possibility nga wrong jumper setting. Magilog jud na cya. Akoa bitaw firstly newly build system mag prob jud pero jumper setting ra diay then sa bios setting.

Check lang jud tested jud na nga compatible rare ra kaayo na nga case. I hope it helpz.

i don't think the jumper will matter since sa PATA(IDE) ra na applicable. walay jumper ang SATA bro. the only jumper the SATA has is the 1.5GB limiter. so most probably bios settings ni bro. try butitoy's advice.

ang jumper sa IDE bro kai e slave nya use the primary slave sa board to plug it in the IDE HD. bsn mu work na.

dili lang ni sa jumper kay when i encountered this problem, ako nang gi suwayan tanan options sa bios. wala gyud na solve. unya 3 ka 0pc nga intel 945 chipset akong gi suwayan, mao ra gihapon ang result.
