right click sa HDD under tools Error-checking. sulod sa windows xp.

you need to install it in a computer in order for you to know wether it is defective or not. unless pag taod palang nimo wala pay OS mag error na. Originally Posted by silvan

kung seagate imo HDD then use seatools. naa option didto for error checking and fixing. you don't have install anything on the disc. all you have to do is burn the seatools ISO then boot to your optical drive.

This is an old topic again revive!
Bro, anyway the best way to test your HDD is use it. Mostly manufacturer have their own hdd utilities. Like seatools and samsung utils etc.. If you already have a HDD w/ an OS installed, and then you have the new HDD that you want test make it as secondary ide or 2nd sata.
USE it to know if its defective. Mostly HDD's right now built to last so I think your worries are not necessary.
