I believe this was already stated and discussed. To some it may be malicious. It depends on which side you are on and/or personal beliefs and conviction but still, there was no irregularity UNFORTUNATELY.

On another note, what if I will tell people here that I was with Paco in Manila when the Chiong sisters were abducted? I bet 95% of the forumers here will say I am a BIG LIAR.

So you see, it's all about personal perspective. Nobody can change a person's views when they already made up their minds. It's just human nature.

in fairness, wala gi ilad ang mga Hultmans. That's the fact. They are not stupid to sign the civil indemnity.

ang erpat mismo ni Maureen ang nipirma sa civil indemnity indicating that Teehankee will pay the damages and to his possible application for pardon, to which they did not object.

the fact that Teehankee applied for pardon was that he was remorse on his part.

klaro kau na mga pre. documented pa gyud.

if we say giilad ang mga Hultmans, we myt as well say giilad nila ang ilang kaugalingon...

and to make this issue about rich ppl ra ang prio, is totally baseless...there were 290 more na pardon, ma rich or poor.

have you been imprisoned at least for a day or two or visited a correctional facility for an entire day? coz i have.

prison is prison man, regardless of the VIP treatment. they have special treatment because they have money, it's that simple. again, life is unfair.

i think there was no secrecy in the release of Teehankee. i believe the media didn't bother to cover his story while he was still applying for pardon and the time his application was still in process. It won't sell. Anha nlng cla ni cover when he was released ky the story will sell like hotcake.

in fact, when he was in the process of being released, there was a public notice in some newspaper in Manila.

and i also disagree there was deviousness. There was a civil indemnity agreement between the Hultmans and Teehankee. The Hultmans knew very well that Teehankee applied for pardon and the possibility that he would be pardoned in the near future. And they had no objection to it.

The only thing they objected was that they weren't notified immediately of his release. As a rule of thumb and common courtesy, they should have been notified immediately by the authorities, but it's not mandatory. it's not in the law. what's stated in our law is that there should at least be a public notice. besides, the Hultmans are in Sweden. Who knows? Maybe nobody from the authorities bothered to notify them coz they might have transferred to another address and contact# over there.

and even if we say the Hultmans were notified immediately, could that change in any way Teehankee's release? i don't think so.

i agree. kanang mga datu nga convicts, they have their resources at their disposal, even in prison. some have even become "mayors" in the jail. one example is Jalosjos who even won a candidacy even when he's still in jail. Resources, resources...and influence too.

let's say dili gyud pwede mka tv, ug unsa pa nang mga comforts isulod sa jail, the authorities cannot prevent other jailmates to give VIP treatment to their newfound mayor2x.

mura ra gud nag salida sa PrisonBreak. di ba naay mayor2x sa SONA...
