Also Davao International Airport is what it's name speaks, Mindanao's International Gateway and it's duty free shops (3 branches all located in Davao and the only ones in Mindanao) speak for the tangible market, not to mention the undeniable tourist attraction the city and its regions innately posses. CDO's upcoming airport is for domestic use.
The claim that CDO is the commercial center by that poster is just another hype in attempt to mislead readers without factual basis. No need to argue that major banks, commercial establishments, service centers, and now the sudden mushrooming of ICT/BPO in in such very short span of time attests to that they consider Davao as their major location in Mindanao. BIMP-EAGA in which Davao is a major proponent have already mapped Mindanao to ensure a well distributed development unlike in other regions of this country where development is unfairly concentrated to one area only. NorthMin will be considered the industrial base of mindanao while Davao will be considered as the Commercial Center and major Service hub of Mindanao, so there's really no competition but rather it complements unlike what myopic mongerers tend to hype to the point mamotbot pa.
