I also don't know why you seem to think nga "pro-China" ko or what. I'm simply pro-space, regardless of the country or the company that endeavors for it. Kung tinood nga "pro-China" ko, why did I also post a celebratory post about Elon Musk's SPACE-X Falcon 1's successful flight in a separate thread? Makes no sense diba?

What I'm against are negative people, and that's the point here--what you have been posting may be your opinion, but like you said, since we are all entitled to our opinions, I would like to put forward, as an opinion too, that negative thoughts such as yours, and using personally demeaning words like "hayahaya nimo gud" or "pataka butangbutang istorya" etc that tends to aggrevate a rather decent discussion. If I misunderstood your claim about hating China then I apologize--I only posted in the stance I did, because you seem so aggressive and very adamant in the manner that you post, to the point nga mura na ba siya ug personal attack bitaw. Pwede ba ta mag inistoryahanay nga murag dili "attacking" ang style?

And no, I have absolutely no intent to convice people here that China is superior or what. Go back to my very first post--this thread was meant to inform and educate that a) China has managed to do its third successful manned mission into space, with a spacewalk and that b) these are required steps in the long ladder to achieve other goals such as putting up a space station, and possible lunar exploration. I did not expect and intend for this thead to be a battleground for opinions or for harsh words. The reason perhaps that you felt I was "attacking people" is because I merely defended the reason why I created this thread and you people come and start talking about how this achievement is "nothing new" or how China's government is bad--kinsa naman karon ang out of topic or is trying to derail the essence of the topic?

    ADDENDUM:

I just re-read my posts, and found out that the moment nga nag-start magdegrade ang quality sa atong mga posts was when I said "shakes head". If you felt nga you needed an apology from me for that statement, then I apologize. It's just that in real life, if I met someone who's ideas I don't agree with, mag lingi-lingi man dyud akong ulo, so I tend to verbalize it in my posts, so if that was offensive to you, then I apologize.

i don't attack someone personally. and no i don't intend to it to be offensive. i'm just saying that I am entitled to my own opinion, negative or not why can't you respect it? do you really feel the need to post against my comment? does my post really bother you? we have different views on this matter, did I ever post or comment anything against yours? wala man siguro diba? I felt you were attacking me by not respecting my opinion. I already know about your fascination about space technology and thats great, good for you. I apologize if you feel i'm crapping on your thread, I'm just defending my right to speak whether negative or positive.

Your points are well taken. Yes I guess I was bothered, but realized that I should have kept that feeling to myself, rather than interpret it as someone trying to derail the ideas in the thread. Thank you for the clarifications.

The sad thing is, any great nation and culture had started off learning about astronomy during the infancy of their culture and country, and because astronomy is the cradle of all the other sciences, it led to the development of such countries using science to advance themselves and prosper.

I have a very simple wish and belief. If we can get all Filipino kids nowadays, to get started and get interested in space, and the sciences, I believe this is one of the many steps we can use to get this country jumpstarted so that it can head towards a better future.

That sort of attitude towards astronomy, and the sciences in general, is one the reasons why our country is never going to prosper.

Astronomy is basically one of the "mothers" of all the sciences. When men were still primitive, wala intawon TV, movies, radio, XBOX, Playstation, ug internet. Pagkahuman sa panihapon, ang ilang makit-an when they lie down on the ground, were the stars and the moon. This led humans to ponder on the whys and hows of this world, and thus science was born.

Unya, for you, they are just "fairy tales". No argument there, pero all I can say is, sayang.

Thank you for the explanation. The explanation was all I was after. I didn't want anyone (esp. youngsters who chance upon, and happen to read this thread) to conclude that that's only what astronomy is all about...fairy tales. But your explanation helped.
