They are all good brands. If you are in the hard drive business, you are a big company. There is no such thing as a hard drive clone. Your experiences will vary from model to model and batch to batch however. Personally, I'd choose Seagate just for their support. I RMA'd one of my 500GB hard disks and got a 750GB back. That was a nice surprise. Also, Seagate owns Maxtor if you guys didn't know.

same experience here. back when we RMA'd a 80gb sata drive, we got a nice shiny new hard disk that was like 120gb or something. when we checked the contents of the hard disk, it still even got the files from the hard disk we RMA'd. they saved us time to restore the back-up of the RMA'd drive

    and yeah, Seagate=Maxtor .

if ur hdd is noisy.. back-up ..bundak kausa ! RMA
    payter..
    , very creative.

i've tried maxtor, western digital's & seagate's. ok ra tanan, walay problema. pero lately, i've been getting & recommending seagate coz of their 5yr warranty & better service. that tells you a lot of their make. though i haven't had a failure so far but it's reassuring to know of that.

basta, the usual caring for hdd's & always provide adequate ventilation. naako temp monitor installed so if taas na gani permi, it's time for cleaning, .

raptor is for speed, & the 500gb seagate got this noisy problem going on. f ur buying one, have it tested first.

Bro sa ma timingan ra cguro na kay lain lain man gud ug response ang mga computers like HDD etc.. its how you handle things w/c proper handling should be more consider. So if you have seagate hdd its your choice if you will take care of it. I choose seagate NOW because of their warranty service plus inexpensive plus the new THINNER look. WD is my ideal HDD actually and I got 1 here and excellent condition until now. Seagate now has improved their products so I believe they have the advantage now PLUS 5 long years warranty.
