Am planning to buy DVD Writer... am quite confused on what type of writer am going to buy...
SATA or IDE... any past experience on this mga ISTORYAN'z...

IDE and SATA dvd writers are the same.. they both write onto cd/dvds....
not much difference between SATA ug IDE...
1 thing you must be really concerned of is the brand and durability of a dvd-writer
good brands are lite-on, samsung, btc

yup, & depends too what's available in ur mb. if u have both sata & ide in ur mb then it's about planning what u intend to install now & in the future. performance is same in both.
since my mb does have both, i installed ide optics & the sata for drives.

I agree, the same lang. My concern is, sata cable is clean to look at compared to IDE. I am using IDE liteon ever since.

i'm very good with my IDE BTC DVD-RW
1/30 dvd write fail ra... thats the estimate.
2 - 4x ra akong speed for dvd write... di nako 8x - 16x

Sak2 cla bro, depends sa brand. Ako I am using IDE 1 LiteON DVDROM and 1 LiteON DVDRW use it 3 years na akong Liteon dvdrom then almost 1 year na ang RW nako.
I prefer an IDE for ROM/RW basta optical drives coz mas reliable gamiton.

bai, mas maayo if ang imo DVDRW is lahi ang cable sa imo HD... if u are using Sata for HD, then use IDE for DVDRW.. if u are using IDE for HD, use Sata for DVDRW... This is important in configuring your hardware for better performance... you can understand this more if you will read about the chipset your mobo is using.... I am convincing you to believe this 'coz I have experimented it to verify if it is really the real thing.... Though, ok lang gihapon if pareha ka ug data cable for these devices but, lahi ra jud ang performance if lahi ang cable sa HD ug DVDRW...

in what sense man sya bro mo lahi ang performance? ky nag plan raba unta ko mag ilis ug SATA nga DVDRW... limpyo man gud tanawon ang mga cables

mumatter ra cguro ang sata in the future where ang read/write speed sa imo DVDwriter mura na ug harddrive. I suggest Lite-on nga DVD writer and not samsung. Bati ug performance and samsung. I dont know about ilang high-end though.
