I think for intel processors with clockspeeds of 3Ghz w/ HT and up... mag lisud na ug gukod ang Athlon XP series even with the XP3000+. The XP series is reaching its limit.. padung na phase out.. mao na pulihan na sa AMD64/Athlon64 series.

Mao gyud, 64 bit computing na ta within 5-10 years...

heheh AMD64 Opteron has already been released mid-April and Athlon64 come this Sept 22 we don't have to wait for months hehehe. great processors too... runs 64bit (of course!) as well as "legacy" 32-bit mode (which other 64bit procs doesn't support like the intel itanium)

hmm 5-10 yrs?!? basin 128-bit computing na ta! hehehe

64bit processors are out... Athlon64 and Opteron... software nalang ang huwat.

For me... if i have a big budget for my PC.. i'll go for P4 3GHz+ 800MHz with HT... but if processor budget is below 20,000.00 i'd go for XP3200+...

For low end... FX is the king..

dili ang Athlon FX mao nay ipuli sa Duron nga Series... the Athlon FX is basically the Barton core with only 256K L2 cache while ang XP is 512K cache... heheh samot ka layo ang biya sa celeron! hehehe

no errors whatsoever with 49 degs. hehehe and pc is turned on 12 hours/day at the least

For AMD procs.. its normal. my T-bird runs at 49-51C idle and max around 55-56C at full load.
kung sa Intel.. probably high ra... mao na maka ingon ka lower ang temp sa intel kay dako man ang surface area ma contact padung heatsink.. so mao nga paspas ang heat transfer compared sa die size sa Athlon. athlon barton core is about 1/6 the contact surface area of the intel P4 procs.
