my sis graduated from pisay but my sister is nowhere near the aktibista profile or mindset probably because most of my relatives are from Ateneo or La Salle. i have noticed that why most students from UP, Pisay or other state colleges are inclined to be potential activists because most of them are intelligent and poor, being so they are scared that despite their intelligence they cannot hack the harsh realities of society and therefore cannot make a difference and succeed.

mao na'y gi-ingon taas ug IQ, wala'y EQ. in short, wala'y common sense.

simple ra kaayo, they should think by using statistic and probability asa ang mas taas ug chance mo asenso sila ug makatabang sa katilingban, mag NPA or mo pursue sa ilang field?

how many years has the NPA been fighting for their so called cause and until now they are not even near their so called goal and has not made a difference.

    Well said. Good theory.

Usa ka rason ay hostage or puppet sila ng kanilang beloved activist professor. Nag usik lang ng kwarta ang goverment sa mga State Universities, where their products are the future Enemy of the State and Economic Saboteur. Murag, ginigisa ang mga tax payer sa kanila sariling mantika.

A final nail to the coffin. The CPP-NPA should know by now that it(their struggle) is all futile. It's time to pack up and close shop.

Hununga na ninyo nang inyong pag gamit sa mga bag-ong tubu nga mga talented kaayo kay aron mapuslan ni sila sa nasud.

And their coward professor who enjoys life by staying in the Netherlands doesn't even send a message of consolation to the family of the deceased.

Kaluoy niya og sa iya kauban... Tsk tsk tsk...

    Condolence sa ila families...

Unsaon kaha ang kinahanglan buhaton no para ma-prevent nga mahitabo na pud ang sama ani nga tragedy?

If tinuod jud nga communist siya, I feel like I can't condemn her kay that's what she believed in... Bright biya siya... Pero kita tanan lahi-lahi og beliefs og principles... She was young, idealistic, and intelligent. There were many of us, too, who once in their lives were idealistic, and few among us had the guts (or the foolishness?) to act on what we believed in... Some became disillusioned and opted instead to take other routes... I guess what I'm trying to say is that lisud man kaayo i-dismiss siya or iya beliefs... I think mas maayo siguro i-ponder ang question: "What pushes people like her, young and intelligent, etc., to do what she did?" I don't know... We should ask deeper questions...

    bitaw mao jud...

my goodness, alarming jud kaayo ni'ng nahitabo nila... intelligent sila pero mura'g dili nila makita nga actually futile jud tuod ang struggle sa NPA... pero lisud man pud gud... i mean, when i was younger i, too, was a bit idealistic... so in a way maka-sympathize pud ko gamay... labi na kay ang "revolutionary struggle" kay attractive kaayo... it's very appealing intellectually unya romantic pa jud kaayo ang notion sa "revolution"... you place that vis a vis a background of poverty, corruption, and the feeling of helplessness in the face of those age-old societal ills, the communist ideology becomes very, very appealing...

so i guess kinahanglan ta maghuna-huna og ways to prevent young people who are intelligent and gifted and who are promosing from committing their selves to ideologies that can only bring them to harm's way... i don't know...

bitaw sakto jud nga there are many avenues for them to serve the people, many ways of serving the country, of finding ways to solve our society's problems... there are many ways of making their lives more fruitful and fulfilling... pero kung practicality ang istoryahan, mas maayo jud unta nag-focus na lang sila sa ila respective fields... nursing, for example, is no less noble...

pero they were probably thinking of "selfless sacrifice"... pero sa gi ingun pa sa isa ka writer... "it takes more courage to live for one's country than to die for it..." or words to that effect...

pero maybe we're jumping to conclusions... tinuod ba jud nga communist sila?

Exactly! She died for her ideals & beliefs. How & why did Rachel Mae evolved from a daughter of a middle class family into a selfless revolutionary?
