I tried bible studying. naay session ato nag ingon nga ang pag kumpisal sa sala dili maoy makaluwas nimo kundi ang pagusab sa imong kaugalingon og pagbag-o gyud.. many catholic nagtoo nga ang pagpakumpisal is a sure way ticket to heaven pero dili bya... mao kasagaran sa mga katoliko walay bible study....

Bro, as what i have read on the scripture on "Tao Te Ching" actually means that we can never understand the Taoism through the intellect alone. We must feel it. Talking about it can be useful but will never replace the actual experience of living it.
Taoism have recognize the relative nature of the world. Values have meaning only in comparison. For instance, a task can only be "easy" if we compare it to some other task that is more difficult. If there is nothing else to compare it with, the task cannot be rated in terms of difficult.

i see.. I need opinion on this.. As a Roman Catholic, is it a sin if i convert to another religion??

I'm a Roman Catholic myself, and I'm currently considering to convert to Taoism.
Is this okay or there is someting on the bible tat i shouldn't and its a sin to change religion?

if you want to convert bai you must of course abandon the thought of your current religion that it is a sin to worship something else. Otherwise, you'd be stuck with a question where you only have an inevitable answer. However, I believe you already know the answer to your question.

besides, i'm pretty sure any belief always has some sort of "foolproofing" to keep followers within their "flock". diba?

Brod, it is really entirely up to you! It makes no difference what religion you are going... but the virtue of being honest to yourself counts. Anywhere you go religion set the same philosophy and ethics - you can even have both, that's up to your need and practices. All you have to do is listen what dictates and make you happy not some people think that IT'S A SIN...! Forget that!

if you view it from a western point of view taoism has 2 aspects. the philosophical and the religious.

you can keep your religion now and utilize the moral teachings of taoism. taoism has a lot of articles and teachings regarding the behavior of man, of which roman catholicism doesn't really give a thorough emphasis on(there is this what you call 'authentic christian morality',but not everyone are aware or have studied this).

from the eastern point of view of which taoism really is, there is no difference between religion and philosophy. its as if the people think of the 2 as no different.

there are similarities between the two philosophies.

you will find I-Kuan Tao ,a taoist movement close to your heart because it incorporates other religious philosophies with taoism. try to google it.

There is an I-Kuan Tao temple in Banilad, the Sian Tian Temple famous for its veggie siopao.

yeh? how come Zhuang Zi thoughts on death are different from that of taoism as a religion: idea of the fountain of eternal youth or was that immortality or something like that.
