the problem with this thread is that a lot of people already have preconcieved notions about islam. IMHO, the best way to understand islam, any other religion or culture is to open your minds.

How can you fully understand when you already detest it?

the best way to understand islam is to read the quran and the hadith. any intelligent person can see in simple and plain words that these verses are violent and intolerant words against those who do not submit to islam. because islam does not mean peace but submission. and submission means submission to the god of muhamad.

that is why i encourage you to take a look at the online quran and hadith so we will be well informed and we won't be accused of hating islam because of a pre-conceived notion.

violence is written all over the hadith and quran. if you only care enough to examine its contents. even the imams admitted that indeed those violent laws are part of islam. laws that divided people and subjugate anyone who are not muslim.

hahahaha so you are now saying i'm a christian. go ahead bash them all you want because i do not even think christianity is speaking the absolute truth. many of the incredible stories about jesus in the bible are fairytales. and IMHO jesus was an illegitimate child of mary that rose to prominence and was made a diety by his disciples and history was never again the same after that. even the story from the torah are filled with fairytales. there might be some historical truth in it yet they had woven fairytales into it.

from the POV of someone outside religion. christianity's teaching is based on the new testament and not the torah. that is the reason why it is said that everything was made new. including the covenant. the old testament is only used as evidence for the prophesy of a messiah which christians believed to be jesus of nazareth.

my brothers? agree on each other? so am i one of them? you use the word "each other". why would i agree with their belief that jesus is God (that's what is written in the new testament) when i don't even believe that the stories of the new testament were very accurate. there might be some truth in some of its historical narrative but it isn't the absolute truth.
