i don't think you have to change any jumper settings bro. automatic man ma detect ang hdd's sa bios.

suggest lang ako sir... kay naa man gud primary ug slave kasagaran naka master man tanang new drive dibah.. suggest lng ako heheh ok...

naa bios na autodetect na sa HDDs... But if you get into trouble with SATA HDD as primary boot drive and another HDD configured as IDE master, better to change to SATA HDD as primary boot drive and configure d IDE HDD as CS or computer select... automatic nana....

"take note sa answer niya "primary boot drive". why? because there is no master or slave drive. sa IDE ra na naa master og slave kay nagshare na sila og channel/connector. sa sata isa ka channel/wire kay isa pud ka device. walay ka share."


insert lang ko ha, if ingon ani nga case nga duha na ang harddisk wa ba kay i change sa jumper sa imong harddisk? steady lang tong original position sa jumper?

you mean the master/slave/cable select jumper sa HDD? sa IDE nimo steady lang pero sa SATA wala ni siya jumper para master/slave/cable select kay one channel is to one device man.

recap -
1. u'r better off buying a sata hdd to connect to ur available sata port. reason - better performance than ide.
2. nothing to change among the hdd jumpers. nada.
3. i recommend u utilize the new sata drive as ur OS/boot drive. reason - again, better performance. and if u do that u have to change now ur boot sequence in the BIOS. the sata drive now being ur primary boot device. (if u go this route then obviously u have to reinstall ur OS to ur new drive.)

ahh, tnx sa inyong mga suggestions guys, naka sabot na jud ko.. refresh lng ko ha, so mag palit ko ug SATA nga HDD and maoy himuon nko nga primary, and ang usa ka HDD nga naa sa IDE ok ra to xa did2, wala nko lain e configure or hilabtan sa mga wirings or jumpers?

PS. la au ko ka sabot anang jumpers..

kanang mga jumpers bro sa HDD mao na xa ang i configure nimo to make your HDD as master or slave particularly PATA HDD or commonly called IDE HDD... you can find it between the IDE port and power port of your HDD. depende sa model sa imo HDD, naa na illustration sa HDD casing which is for SL (SLave), MA (MAster) or CS (Cable Select)... an image below is an example...
